Harunire Terrace

There are nice shops and coffee shops here. Worth coming to walk around this area. Can grab a drink indoor when getting cold. Even at freezing temperature, still not feeling too bad to walk around. It’s a cozy area, feel very relax to spend time here.

Love this stretch of space where you can enjoy nature, hear the river flows, have a coffee or nice meal. Grab some souvenirs and Japanese confectionery. Nice to chill and spend some slow hours.

Located in Naka-Karuizawa, within the Hosino area, Harunire Terrace wooden boardwalk is lined with several small and stylish restaurants, bakeries and cafes that are lined parallel to one another.
In addition to eateries, Harunire Terrace is also home to a few boutiques.
Take a stroll along the stream beside the terrace and enjoy the surrounding picturesque forest.
The overall design of Harunire Terrace embraces the use of natural timber, allowing it to blend into its forestry setting.
Although Harunire Terrace is small, it is very pleasant place to spend your time serenading into the nature has to offer.

The ambiance at the terrace is great. It isn't very big, but it's integrated really well with the nature that surrounds it. The stores are very different from each other and there's a selection of restaurants.

A cute little area with unique small shops and restaurants. You can spend about 2 hours but not much more. There is a little nature walking path as well.

In Karuizawa, this was such a beautiful place with many beautiful stores. Would live to go back. It was so refreshing on a super hot and humid day. Would love to go back and stay the whole day

I love the atmosphere here! The local shops put a lot of effort in keeping the area clean and welcome to guests. The sun has a magical feel to this area as well. If you're a dog lover be ready to see a bunch of smaller dogs here as visitors like walking their dogs here.

Fantastic place. Good food and what an exceptional view and surroundings. A place with vising with family and friends.

Beautiful and relaxing creekside spot for boutique shopping, upscale coffee, and/or just hanging out. Perfect mix of traditional nature and modern architecture and VERY dog friendly. Parking is darn-near impossible during peak hours so recommend coming very early or later in the afternoon!

It's definitely worth walking around here if you visit Karuizawa. The onsen was (in my opinion) overpriced, but the terrace overall is very pleasant to walk around.

Lovely atmosphere, beautiful terrace especially in the winter. There is a books cafe and it's simply perfect for chilling. I'm surprised to find a couple of English books.

Unique shops and bakery all so beautiful

Its just a bus ride from the train station, I would call this a serenity place. You can feel the calmness, the sound of the running water on a nearby streams, winter chills feels the air, and a nice cup of brewed coffee at the Harunire Terrace, is a perfect fine day for me.

Love the atmosphere of this little terrace, with nice wine and coffee and art stores! Beautiful in the autumn or spring.

A place to relax.
Parking here is a bit difficult if you come by car as every car park is full.

Well kept. Plenty of cafe and food and shopping. Great place to chill in full view of the river.
