"The perfect park for kids who love trains and history."
If there was a park where you could touch an actual steam locomotive and a tram, would you want to go? This is exactly the place.
The park is located close to the underground and JR lines and is accessible by a free cable car. The park is on a small hill, but is easily accessible with a pram.
There are well-maintained toilets, a shop and museum nearby, and a whole range of playground equipment for young children and adults. In the centre of the park is a landmark with playground equipment that looks like a castle on a mountain. Trains that used to be active in the past are arranged around it. This is a recommended hole-in-the-wall park.

Parking:Yes ¥150/30min 8:30am-4:30pm

An amazing park especially during the sakura season. Conveniently located next to multiple rail and tram lines. There are also a few museums and cafes.

Asukayama Park is a large park located in Tokyo's Kita ward that is famous as a sakura viewing spot. It is a great place to visit during late March when the park is full of Sakura and other flowers. There are also plenty of grassy areas for families to have picnics. It was crowded with people in my visit but it is still very enjoyable.

In addition to the beautiful scenery, there are also multiple museums in the park that you may want to visit. If you're interested in visiting one of the museums in the park, be sure to check their hours of operation ahead of time as they were close on Monday.

Welcome to Asukayama Park, an oasis of natural wonder nestled in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. While renowned for its captivating cherry blossoms, this park holds an additional secret in store for nature enthusiasts: a mesmerizing display of hydrangea blossoms. Set against the backdrop of passing trains, Asukayama Park offers a unique blend of botanical beauty and urban bience
Captivating Hydrangea Blossoms:
Asukayama Park takes on a magical aura during the rainy season, typically in June, when vibrant clusters of hydrangea flowers come into full bloom. The park becomes a tapestry of hues as shades of blue, pink, and purple intertwine, creating a breathtaking sight for visitors. Stroll along the winding paths, and you’ll be immersed in a sea of delicate petals, each blossom exuding its own unique charm.

A Symphony of Nature and Trains:
What sets Asukayama Park apart from others is its harmonious coexistence with the modern world. As you wander through the park’s tranquil surroundings, you’ll witness the graceful dance of trains passing by. Adjacent to the Oji Station of the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, the park offers a front-row seat to observe the trains gliding through the urban landscape. The juxtaposition of nature’s serenity and the rhythmic movement of trains creates a captivating experience that is truly one-of-a-kind.

A great place to enjoy the sakura season. The best part is that it's not crowded. The first thing we saw was the amazing hell covered with falling Sakura. There are amazing flowers also. You can try the elevator which take you to the station and up to the park, and located at the side of the park.
It's also nice place for family picnics.
There was also a very cute cat.
Moreover, there are different types of cherry blossom trees in the park itself. Great place for those who love to spend time at nature and enjoy taking photos.
There is a small shop and restaurant inside the park which it is close to the kids play ground. Well, the kids play ground was the most crowded part of the park.
As the park is located at the station, you can take photos of the passing trains.

Very large park. Nice play area for kids with 2 old timey trains you can go into, picnic tables that look like houses, and a huge castle in the middle. Good walking trails, make it look like walking in woods with wooden railing and rock stairs. Very Japanese and good shade from the sun. Hydrangeas were beautiful this time of year and a lot of them! Close to the Sakura tram and another train station. Plenty of benches along walking area to sit down. Bathrooms and drink vending machines of course. They have a fountain but it was not running...😞.

Superb park just next to train , tram station.
It has got a mini kaho monorail to go up the park, it’s for free.
Nice Sakura trees.
Huge play area for kids to enjoy, near that they have kept old model of a tram and a steam engine.
Great place to spend minimum half day trip with kids.

This place is a very good place to watch Sakura 🌸🌸🌸if you hate crowded places. Less than a minute walk from the central exit of Oji station. If you don’t up the stairs to the park, you can take the free monorail ride which located right below the foot of the hill. Besides strolling around the beautiful park, you can go to a museum, look at some old trains or look at some historic buildings. During this COVID-19 period, picnicking at the park is not allowed.

We think this is the best place to visit during the Sakura blossom festival. Even it is crowded, but there are rooms for you to appreciate the beautiful scenery of cherry blossom, without bumping into people after people. And there is also children playground to watch the children playing joyfully.

Asukayama has a splash fountain area (no shade, bicycle parking available, lots of spaces to spread out) and park area (which both little and big kids can enjoy!) has vending machines (drinks, ice cream), toilets, view of the train tracks (5 train lines incl. Tohoku Shinkansen, Keihin Tohoku, etc.), streetcar and steam train displays to play in, huge castle “mound” to climb, among other apparatus.

Sakura Tram runs nearby (although not sure how far the actual stop is).

Not many combini around the park (a lot of people were eating McD’s, but it doesn’t seem particularly close in proximity. Brining own food and snacks is recommended for hungry mouths!

Gorgeous park whose founding dates back to the late 18th century, making it one of the oldest public parks in the world. Famous for cherry blossom viewing in the spring.

This park is ideal to spend anytime, anyseason in.Momiji,Hanami, ajisai viewing.. It is one of oldest in Tokyo and very popular for japanese citizens but not so much tourists there. It is very close to Oji station. You can use South exit to reach park quickly. There is also a free rail that runs between the park and Oji Station, which makes reach it easy for anyone.
There is big space with play areas and many figures for children. There are small cafe and museum too.

Well-known park on City of Kita. You will see hundreds of Sakura bloom on Spring. Bring your family or friends to spend holidays with hanami. Just walk 1 minutes from Oji Station. You can also play with your family or child on playground, and never be bored because the flowers are everywhere to see, even on winter so you can take a beautiful photograph.

Interesting playground. Lots of open space under the Cherry Blossoms for picnic. A good idea to take a mat though as it’s a bit dusty but the children won’t mind for sure.

Good if you live close by, not all that worth it if you have to take like 500 yen train. It's just a park with no auper interesting attractions. A great one if you have kids tho.

Superb park featuring fantastic sakura viewing. combined with colour-rich pansies, tulips and others. Multiple playgrounds for the kids, including a real steam loco and an old street car both accessible for the enjoyment of all. There is a cablecar to reach the park but always long queues ..... Bright sunset piercing through the blooming sakura turns the park into a photographer paradise. Great park to let the kids loose until they give up. Bring your food and drinks, a few minutes away from the Oji train station.
