A lovely shrine with a relaxing atmosphere and a 2k+ year old huge tree that you can just stare and wonder at for ages. There are some nice dessert and drinks shops around too so it’s worth a visit after the short but steep hike up to the shrine.

Love this shrine. Its beautiful and peaceful, and there's a tree which is believed to be more than 2000 years old here. The shrine is also famous for its 凪守り, or Nagimamori, which is a charm for peaceful and calm days.

A majestic shrine and at the same time, a green park full of joy. The old trees are stunning.

A must visit place in Atami, one of the oldest trees recorded in Japan are in there. Stunning place, there are a few spots in the area that you could view. Little cafe on the top of the temple. Perfect approach to end the tour there.

Surprisingly fun!

I was surprised that there were bunch of places to take photos and kill some time. To make things better, they have stands for you to place your phone and take a photo. Although the stand is placed a little further than you probably want, but you get wide shot of the background (which is I guess you want).

Most impressive was this big tree that is in the middle of the area. Not the biggest tree I have seen, especially since I come from Canada, but big for Japan. There is a cafe and a place to buy some food, so you can definitely hang out here for a bit. You can probably kill an hour here, but can spend a little more if you decide to hang out at the cafe.

They have parking and I didn't pay for anything, but I did have to wait since it is not a big parking area. I was told to go to the third parking area, but it wasn't far from the shrine.

Walking from Atami station, it took about 15 to 20 minutes both downhill and uphill. The main shrine has a large open courtyard with a bamboo covered path leading to the sacred tree behind it. To help with the large flow of tourists, there is a well maintained concrete path around the major points in addition to a main cafe/gift shop a two or three snack stands. In addition, on the day I visited, the major spots were well lit as evening approached for viewing and photos.

This shrine is spectacular in a way that it has all the things that are tourist friendly and very commercialised. They have phone holder in every spot for you to hold your phone so you don’t need your tripod. There are cafes in the main building of the shrine and there are ancient gigantic trees at the back of the shrine, which is spectacular. Also, there are two more cafes, one next to the big tree and one is at the front door of the shrine.

Beautiful shrine a 15-20 minute walk from downtown Atami. The highlight here is the sacred tree called "Ōkusu" which is more than 2,000 years old and the second largest tree in Japan. It is said that if you go around the tree once, you will live an extra year and if you make a wish, it will come true. In addition, there are many cafes and a resting area where you can enjoy tea and sweets. I really liked this contrast between the sacred and the modern. It is a very pleasant and relaxing place.

One of my favourite shrines! It is surprisingly modern, with a couple of cafes on the shrine grounds, and even the area where they sell omikuji looked like a cafe to me at first! We took our time walking around, and it was a very pleasant walk indeed, with lots of photo spots and photo stands. There’s so much greenery; it really is beautiful!!

An ancient camphor tree, although hollowed out, is still very much alive and sacred on the shrine grounds. The shrine is close to the train station but they also have ample parking available.

Although it’s a traditional Japanese shrine, it combines with modern sweat shops and administrative building. Wonderful experience with such combinations. The wine/alcohol are great on taste and color. Really suggest to go for a 1-1.5hrs walk when visiting Atami.

A grand shrine with big camphor tree of 2000 years old. Get the natural healing power from the tree. Located behind the main building through a little bamboo alley on the left hand side of the building.
Some cafes, souvenir shop and terrace seatings are also available.

This shrine is one of sacred sites. You will be overwhelmed by enormous old trees in the shrine which have been growing over 1300-2000 years. There is a nice cafe next to the shop.

Beautiful Shinto shrine centered around a giant camphor tree that’s over 2000 years old. The shrine itself is very beautiful and peaceful. There is parking but it can get busy on the weekends. There’s are a few shops here selling food and souvenirs along with the typical ema and omamori.

Beautiful, serene spot. Though the worship areas and coffee shop close by 5p.m. you can still walk around after dark and visit the centuries old camphor tree at the back and it's sister tree on the front right of the shrine.

We came here to see the 2000 year old tree and weren’t disappointed. It’s really special, and beautiful lit up at night.

A lot of shops and you can find nice food and gift shops in this building. However, it's always crowded when I visit this place every time.
