This is my favorite hotel in Japan (I've stayed at around 8 of them) and one of my top 10 in the world. The room I stayed in was a three-bed room, and the price was very fair. The bathroom was *amazing*. Mine had a shower room, with a tub and shower in one room and other features separate--toilet in a water closet and sink in an enclave with retractable walls. My kid loved being able to splash as much as he wanted, with the whole tub room being water-safe--going home might be a problem!

Having raved about the bathroom, please note that not all bathrooms were like this. We had four rooms in our party, and the other three rooms had a standard bath (sink/toilet/shower in one room). So look carefully at the pictures when selecting your room.

They have a lot of room options, as far as number of beds/etc. They did provide a crib for the 3YO in our party, but it was a bit squeaky when he moved around.

The location is great. It's nearby a huge mall and there's a second-floor connecting bridge to the train station, which has a food court and shopping as well. There's a restaurant that serves Wagyu beef dishes (among other things) at the end of the food court nearest the hotel (highly recommend!), a Starbucks nearby, and a McDonald's down the escalator from that if you're craving an American breakfast.

I did not have a chance to eat at the hotel restaurants. They said they were booked, but I suspect they just didn't want kids (we had more than one in our party) and didn't want to say so. Many things in Japan are kid-friendly, but there are definitely a few things that aren't.

Speaking of, they did have a cute toiletry "goody bag" for the kiddos upon checking in: toothbrush, slippers, etc., which is semi-standard in Japan.

Really, such a great experience. The only complaint I have at all is the bed is *very* firm (after a couple nights, my "bad" hip was aching), but this seems to be pretty standard in Japan.

Oh, I do not think they had an onsen (could be wrong), and another guest told me the pool is age 12 and up. So I was glad to have the tub-room!

Also, limited check in is an option (that I didn't understand), where you can't check in until 6 pm and must check out by 9 am. I didn't know and booked one of the rooms with that policy. They were pretty nice about it and let us keep things in the room after 9 am on check out day. (We checked in right around 5:50, so the check in time wasn't a problem.)

This is our 2nd time here in Granvia Okayama and what I love about here is the location! Close to everything like a walking distance to the mall, restaurants and transportation.

4 stars because of the room..it’s dated and it needs a tiny renovation like the carpet and the couch needs to get clean.
Positive : The view from our room is the beautiful city. The room smells clean, the toilet is very clean.

Customer service : 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very good customer service! From the entrance to check in they are so pleasant and courteous. Good job 👏.
Thank you for giving us free parking. ☺

We still like to come back and stay in this hotel. ☺

We had a very pleasant stay in this Hotel. The staff was very friendly and our room was spacious and had a nice view. The Hotel is next to the main station so it is located pretty nicely. I liked the breakfast. The selection was good and I liked that it was on the top floor so you can enjoy a nice view while eating breakfast.

It's Infront of the Okayama station ⛽. Inside atmosphere is very beautiful and service is very high. If you looking for exclusive dinner out with your partner, this is a good place.

Right beside Okayama train station so location is perfect. Did not try any restaurants within the hotel. Rooms are clean and quiet. Recommend

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel with rooms that seemed freshly renovated. I opted for a two-bed room and was pleased to find each bed accompanied by two firm pillows. The mattress was solid, giving perfect support, especially in the middle. The nightstand featured a control panel that was quite futuristic, allowing control over the room's lighting and providing power sockets on both sides.

For entertainment, the 55-inch Sony Bravia TV equipped with Chromecast was a great touch, especially helpful for international guests not accustomed to Japanese TV channels. A small drawback was the confined space in the toilet room; while seated, the wall was just inches from the knee.

The highlight of the stay, however, was the breakfast at the 19th floor. The array of local dishes, including the peach beef curry and hiruzen milk, was delightful. Highly recommended not just for the food, but also for the breathtaking view of the entire city laid out before you. The panoramic scene made morning meals truly memorable.

An added bonus was the parking fee – just 1300 yen per night for each room. Quite the bargain in this area. All in all, a wonderful experience with just a few minor areas of improvement.

Right next to the JR Okayama station, adjacent to Aeon Mall (underground link) where there’re a host of shops and eateries, a large supermarket. Don Quixote nearby. We made day trips to Naoshima and Kurashiki from here.

But the most precious thing was the service. I’m floored and rendered speechless with gratitude.

I’d left my wallet in the safe, only realising 2 days later at the airport preparing to fly home. Luckily, my sister had planned to visit Osaka a month later. The staff, namely, Ms Dorothy Kwong, Ms Tomomi Tokuyama, Cho San & Ms Miki Arisa, communicated with me seamlessly, regarding the despatch of my wallet to my sister’s hotel in Osaka.

The hotel magnanimously sent it securely packaged to Osaka without charge. No words can adequately convey how it makes me feel. It is testament to the level of service of Hotel Granvia Okayama and also to the Japanese people. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

The hotel is an excellent choice if you stay in Okayama and visit the city as well as surrounding area. It is directly connected to the JR Okayama station (both Shinkansen and local train stop here) so you do not have to go out. The lobby is spacious. The reception staff has been very professional and welcoming. Our room (standard twin room) was quite large for Japanese standard and quite modern and clean. The view was nice as from a high floor you can see the city and the train tracks as well as the mountains in the distance. The breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of western and Japanese food and also quite fresh. Hotel is well located to visit Korakuen garden as there is a tram departing from the square in front of the station. Also, nearby you have a lot of restaurants and food options, especially in the station and in the underground passageway in front of the station. The hotel is also strategically located if you use Okayama as a base to visit, for example, Kurashiki, Himeji, Hiroshima as all Shinkansen stop here and you also have local train to reach many places (including Shikoku for example). If we return to Okayama we will consider strongly staying here again.

Kind, friendly service!
Room (double standard) was spacious, quite larger than your typical Japanese hotel.
Yes, it may be a little “old” but it’s well kept and maintained. Lobby was shiny and spotless!

Great hotel next to the Station. Very nice for trips to Hiroshima or the Noashima art island. We booked a twin room which had ample room. Breakfast buffet was nice as well.

Giving 5 stars based on price.
Paid 10000 through ikyu hotel in which I got breakfast, free upgrade, pool ticket and free parking. For this price the hotel is absolutely amazing.
Stayed on the 18th floor which is newly renovated - room is small. The hotel is in between a business hotel and luxury hotel.
The pool was great and no one was there, it has a mist and dry Suana - Issue is the times it open, which is 11am to 7pm with last entry at 6pm. Basically if you visit for work you have little time to go and next Morning can't use it.
Breakfast was the high light with good selection of foods and decent quality.
For the price it's an awesome hotel.

The only stay in three weeks where we have been greeted by a foyer hostess who brought a suitcase trolley to load and lead us to the elevator: impressed.

Service can make or break a hotel - in this instance, the hotel is definitely “made”. Spacious room, good proximity to transportation. Would definitely stay here again.

Location is awesome. 3 minutes walk from JR Okayama station because the hotel is under JR West company. Absolutely great for visitors for business or leisure. Only disappointment to me is that they change for swimming pool use and the hours is not convenient.

A good, clean, tidy and well decorated Hotel just located right in front of Okayama Station. One lady staff from the front desk guiding us to the rooms was a Hongkonger, Ms. Kwong explained to us about the Hotel facilities very well & clearly also recommended to us the best restaurant in town.

Service is Excellent. The rooms and hallways are impeccably clean. The views are amazing. You can see what feels like to view the entire city(seemingly) from both room 1517 and room 1819 the whole city scape lies before you. The staff speak better English than I do and I am from Minnesota. The beds are comfortable and have 4 pillows each. There is a large t.v. a massage parlor and several restaurants. The refrigerator holds a few types of beer, shochu and water. A convenience store is quite literally 3 minutes away. Fantastic location for nightlife and not too far from Okayama castle. If there was a 6 star option they would have it.
