Bookcafe Okinawa Rail

Probably the most remote cafe in Okinawa, nestled deep in the Yanbaru forest but still connected by road. The entire cafe building is off grid, including the electricity (generated from solar) and water (filtered). The building design seems inspired by the famous architect, Tadao Ando. The fireplace inside is also very attractive, as well as the sprawling book shelf where one could easily spend a day reading off grid. The menu is expensive by local standards but understandable at its location. The coffee is well made and the cheesecake is pretty amazing too (as seen on the reviews here too). They are served in probably the most beautiful porcelain design I have seen in a cafe.

This place is an adorable little shop literally out in the middle of nowhere and completely off the grid with cash only service. When we first walked in we were like "this little place has no right to be this cool and adorable and high quality". It was amazing

It's one guy running this place who seems very happy and to enjoy his shop.

The food and drink were fantastic. Simple but delicious and sourced from local food.

Bookcafe Okinawa Rail is one of them, it offers the most unique cafe I’ve ever been. It’s located at the middle of the forest of Kunigami District. I love the ambiance and the serene of the place. Peaceful and calm. The cheesecake was so creamilicious and incredibly delicious and it achieved my expectations for cheesecake 😍. One of the best cheesecake I ever had. Chef kiss! 💋 To top of that it matched the granola on the side. Perfecto!

Absolutely fantastic place!!! I wish I could read in Japanese. I came here in foot. 2 hours from the waterfalls and 1.5 to get to the city. Definitely worth it :)

A beautiful cafe situated in nature. Their desserts were fantastic and the vibe was relaxing. I believe you need to order/schedule a meal in advance (which we did not do but wish we did). Worth visiting if in the area. It is very easy to find as it is one of the only places around.

Perfect little stop while exploring the Yanbaru! There are plenty of books to rest in both English and Japanese while you wait for your delicious coffee or food. Menu had everything from a quick snack to a light meal. The ambiance is open to the forest, while plenty of natural lighting and open windows. There is no wired power here, everything is provided from solar panels and most of the menu is provided their own farm across the road. There is even a bee farm nearby. A must stop during your Yambaru drive!

Legit a cafe in the deepest part of the woods and beyond amazing! I will be back before i leave the island! The drive through nature was amazing just to find this little amazing place!

The coffee and cheesecake was delicious and there was a wide variety of books to read as you wait.

氣氛非常放鬆的咖啡店，與當地的自然生態景觀結合，看似餐點不便宜，但每樣都讓味道突出！書籍很多自由取閱！

地元の自然環境と相まってとても落ち着ける雰囲気の喫茶店で、お料理は決して安くはないですが、味はどれも絶品です！ 無料で読める本もたくさんあります！

沖縄本島北部の山の中にあるカフェです。スマホの電波が入らず、Wi-Fiも無い為ネット等は使えません。お支払いは現金のみ、総じてとても素敵だと思いました😌本と自然が好きなこともありますが、お店の雰囲気も素晴らしい。綺麗な自然の中でに静かに本を読むことができ、本の種類も豊富で大変良い時間を過ごさせていただきました。

中部から車で向かいましたが片道２時間程。大通りからは20分程山道を走るので慣れていない方は気をつけた方が良いかもしれないです。沖縄在住者としては特に問題は無く、駐車場も広くて有り難かったです。いただいたカフェラテはとても美味しかったです。

自分自身としっかり向き合える、日常のノイズや邪念をデトックスできる本当に心地良い場所です。疲れていた心がとても癒されて感謝です😊定期的に伺わせていただきたいお店です。

険しい峠道の先にあるカフェです。完全に山の中なのでLINMOでは電波が入らず、強制的にデジタルデトックスができます。 個人的に読書習慣はないのですが、自然に囲まれて静かに本を読むことができ、満足度が高かったです。
バイクはかなり厳しいので車をおすすめします。また、道は少し荒れており倒木もあり道も狭いです。側溝もあるので車の運転は注意してください。

並んでいる本のタイトルを眺めていると不思議と心の琴線にふれる本に出会える場所です。
ケーキもおいしかったです。

月火水お休み。ランチがお休みでカフェタイムを楽しみました。やんばるのカラキを使ったチャイ☕砂糖なしでもとっても美味しい😋絵本、沖縄の本、雑誌などたくさんあって、何時間でもいたい空間✨雨上がりの蝉の声、森の匂いサイコーです🩵

細い山道をひたすら登ったところにある隠れ家のような喫茶店です。どこを見ても落ち着いた雰囲気が良いです。店内にディスプレイされた本も硬軟取り混ぜてて、その時の気分にあったものを探せるかも。コーヒーやデザートも美味しかったです。
山の中ということもあり、携帯電話の回線がキャリアによっては繋がりにくい（ahamoはOK、楽天モバイルとOCNモバイルはほぼNGでした）のでその辺は注意が必要です。

山の中にカフェがあり驚きました！すべてソーラーでエネルギーを賄っているそうです。店長の方はとても優しそうな方でした。お客さんも常連のような方や、旅行できている方などいました。ケーキ屋や飲み物も、本格的な手作りとこだわりが詰まった味でした。
かなり美味しかったです。
帰る時に店長が、絶景ポイントが書いている手書きのフライヤーをもらえます！晴れが日はとても最高でした。

与那覇岳登山口から少し車を走らせると、こんな所に！？という場所にあります。
とても静かで、本も絵本〜小説まで様々なジャンルが置いてありました。
本を読まない人間が行っても楽しめる場所です。
暖房が無いため、暖炉を焚いていて沖縄では味わえない体験を出来ました🔥
夜は街灯が無いので真っ暗です。
