Toyota Rent a Car - Fuji-Kawaguchiko

Very nice staff spoke basic English, enough to help us out.
They explain the policies and driving rules in japan very well.
Usually in Canada the walk around of the vehicle is a formality but here they are very serious and tell you to point everything out and the follow you with a sheet before you leave marking down every flaw you see. Make sure you point out every scratch and ding and watch for subtle dents to cover your butt. Everything went well though and didn't not get scammed.
Got a fun little Toyota that sounded like it was screaming and struggling on the hills around Fuji-san. Probably had barely a 1L engine but it was automatic and got the job done. Very good on gas.

Staff are friendly and able to speak simple English for basic communication. The vehicle we rented was new and easy to use. The rental shop is also not far from the train station. It was a good experience for me.

Very polite and professional service. The process was smooth and took 10 minutes. The vehicle was in very good condition. Highly recommended.

Great service, very professional and offered all driving information in English. They even let us keep the car for an additional day when we requested it. Right next to a petrol station too so no need to fret about filling up.

Decided to write this review after reading recent reviews about the long wait. Some claimed they waited 2 hours for a rental car and I hope my comment helps

I got off the Fuji Excursion train at 11:26am, as I am the main driver, I literally ran my life for the rental car company which took 2 mins. My husband and daughter walk slowly with the luggages. I guess I was the first person from our train to get the rental car hence no queue and no wait. After I got the vehicle the queue starts to pile up …. According to their setup, there is only a maximum of 3 counters and it’s not a quick process.

Rented a small-sized SUV because it was the only one available at that time as the others were already reserved. The price of renting is based on the type of vehicle that you are renting.

The staff was extremely helpful and as long as you have an international driver's licence and your passport with you, there's zero hassle when renting a car with them.

We decided to extend our stay around the area and needed to extend our car rental because of that. The process was also very simple, you could either give them a call or drive-in to request for an extension which for us was done in less than 5 minutes.

Returning is also a simple process, fuel up the car to full tanks next door, present the receipt to the counter and drop-off the keys for your receipt, that's it.

Would definitely rent from them again.

Staff were very professional and very polite. Rented a small FWD and had no issues whatsoever. Staff spoke minimal English, but they had translating devices to help communicate with.

Great experience. Short walk from Kawaguchiko Station, was able to walk in off the street, no prior reservation, and rent a small car for a few hours for ¥3850 to slip in a quick trip. Super friendly staff, one member spoke and understood enough english to not have any trouble over the counter. And they even gave us a ride back to the station after! Highly recommend.

The staff is very considerate and helpful. They speak moderately good English and for most commonly asked questions, they have an iPad with pre-written answers in English. The vehicles are thoroughly cleaned. I lost my phone in one of the rentals and only realized it when I was back in Tokyo, but they shipped it back to me the next day.

The location is excellent because it’s near the train station, bus station and gas station.

Easy to reserve a car online through their official website (remember to buy the insurance). Make sure that you have bring your international car license and passport when you collect the car.

The staff has provided details guidelines and instructions notes with different languages for reference.

We made a reservation online the day before and collection was fuss free. The staff spoke moderately good English and they used an iPad to show videos in English language on impt information so very easy. Staff attitude was very good - friendly.

We actually reserved the car for 24 hours but decided to return it on the day itself and we were “refunded” back some money. Apparently 6h and 12h rental price is different from 24h - something we didn’t know 😅

Such wonderful staff! They were so helpful and had a translator for more difficult sentences. They provided us with english instructions on how to use the GPS for points of interest! Definently will rent from them again on our next trip!

GPS is in full English, but it's easy to key in only if you have the destination's phone number. Quite lengthy inprocessing though, with many questions to fill up on the iPad. Prepare 20mins for that. Returning car is much faster, less than 5min, remember to keep the petrol receipt to show them you have topped up fully, non-issue since the petrol station is just beside it.

I am impressed by how considerate and helpful the Toyota counter staff is. Toyota rental could not provide us a small car. We asked him to help us call Orix to check whether there was a small car available and he went out of the way to help us reserve a car for us. This is really 6 star service.

Easy reservation, quick service, pay upfront, English friendly, and they don't try to upsell you. A small piece of advice though, after you fill the tank keep the receipt. They have to check it when you return the car
