Church of Marianos

Small Byzantine funerary church built in 570 AD with reused hippodrome masonry. The church posseses a fairly intact mosaic floor. The building is easy to miss as you hurry forward towards the hippodrome and the other larger monuments inside the walls of Gerasa. Climb the rise and take a look inside over the walls to enjoy the mosaics.

The room right across the Church of Marianos, inside one of the Hippodrome's vaulted chambers, used to be the deacon's house and has a mosaic floor. You can see the mosaic from the fenced out entrance. You can also read a dedicated review in its own Google Maps entry.

Appena passato l'arco di Adriano è possibile ammirare sulla destra la Church of Marianos, costruita nel 560 dopo Cristo, il pavimento a mosaico con disegni geometrici è perfettamente conservato, permettendo così di conoscere la maestria e la bellezza delle chiese bizantine di quel periodo storico.

Surpreendente e fabuloso. Cidade de mais de 3.000 anos. “Cidade das mil colunas.” Descoberta a partir de 1.908. Vale a pena conhecer.

Like most of the Byzantine Churches in Jordan, it's been destroyed to the ground. But we still can admire the mosaic floor, which is spectacular.

Just after the arch of hadrian, right side this old church ruins can see. Best mosaic are decorated floor is still visible.
Even its a small church the design many be awesome as per the current ruins.
Wooden stage is there to go and see the ruins.

Resti di un'antica chiesa bizantina con il pavimento a mosaico splendidamente conservato. E' situata poco oltre l'arco di Adriano, sulla destra. Merita una sosta per ammirare il bel mosaico.

Pequeña iglesia que por desgracia solo queda el suelo y algo de los cimientos. Pero no te desanimes, el suelo es la mejor parte! Su mosaico se mantiene prácticamente intacto!

Da vedere

拜占庭時代的教堂遺跡，單獨來看還可以，但跟傑拉什壯觀的羅馬遺跡相比可謂黯然失色。
