A very big and beautifully designed church with beautiful stained glass windows and paintings hung on chains along both sides of the nave as well as ornately decorated ceiling.

The Basilica of Santo Stefano Maggiore is an ancient church in Milan. Initially dedicated to the prophet San Zaccaria, it was then dedicated to Saint Stephen in the 10th century. In its history it has undergone numerous reconstruction, expansion and restoration interventions. It is also called Santo Stefano in Brolo (from the historical name of the area) or Santo Stefano alla Porta (in reference to the poster of Santo Stefano, which no longer exists).

It is definitely one of the hidden gems Milan possesses. I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of the paintings and works of art in the church. It is literally right next to the Santuario Di S. Bernardino Alle Ossa, so please go take a look!! I can't believe how little reviews this beautiful church has on Google map :)

STUNNING CHURCH, BEAUTIFUL FRESCOS, AWESOME STATUES, MYSTERIOUS ATMOSPHERE CREATED BY THE DARK ENVIRONMENT and LITTLE LIGHTING. ROOMY and BEAUTIFUL.

Near DUOMO and OSSUARY.

Definitely worth a visit to this Philippine church if you're in the neighborhood. I actually went there during Mass and was the only non-philippine person around. But they were very nice about it and included me in their rituals.

After Mass (only on Sundays I've read) there are Philippine people selling food outside the church which is also really nice. Definitely try it if you have the chance.

Lucky to experience it with no one else around. Right next to the Ossuary so there's no excuse to miss it.
