Loved the food and ambiance of this quintessential Italian restaurant. All dishes were delicious and affordable. THE exception to this were the raw oyster and shrimp. They were very tasty, however very expensive as shown on the receipt. Since it was not on the menu and offered by the waiter, always ask for the price 🙄…

Fabio (the man of the place)was terrific since we had sat at our table of 5. He took all the time that we needed to explain the menu, and his recommendations were excellent! The best dinner we had in Italy ever!! Tante gratzie amico!!

Really fresh, really good seafood dishes. This is definitely a place to spend, have the full three courses of appetiser, pasta and a seafood main. The fish prepared with zucchini, potatoes and olives was divine.
It is pricey but you pay for top quality. Looking forward to going back here.
Even the interior is some of prettiest we have been in Italy. Also the service (the properietor is present here during service) is excellent and friendly. You can really see and taste the passion.

The environment is beautiful and reflective of the beautiful rocks around Polignano a Mare.

The menu is set out with the eventing that you order at least two dishes, whether an appetizer, Primi or other so the dishes are not large which can add to your bill but the food, to me anyway, was worth it. The squid ink pasta was memorable for us freshness and blend of flavours and the grilled seafood was also phenomenal. What I would expect from a restaurant by the sea but better. I was brought a pre-meal appetizer of pumpkin soup and even though I'm not usually a fan of pumpkin, I quite enjoyed it.

We had the best service and meal of our trip. Our children were also well looked after and wine was perfect. We got the tasting menu. Everything was perfect. You must book in advance though

This restaurant has one of the most majestically decorated interiors that I have come across in Italy. The decor is ship themed, in tune with the seafood dishes that they focus on. I ordered the squid ink pasta and my wife went for the grilled seafood platter. The food was good, although the portions were less than generous. A chocolate souffle provided a great finish to our meal.

Amazing restaurant. Got to pick my own fish. Great prices. We thought it was very cheap. But we are from Holland. We try to make money for every little thing.

Great wines, staff at the table cleaning your fish. Atmosphere is beautiful.

We booked in advance and ordered some prosciutto to start off, then they made some special ‘fish and chip’ version for the kids - very tasty! For us, we had the fish soup and baked fish - both were very fresh and tasty. Service was a bit slow on the night but overall friendly and nice. Highly recommended!

It was an amazing experience.
I could eat what exactly what I wanted and it was more than my expectations.

This place was out of this world. Is definitely one of the best restaurants we’ve been on our trip to Italy. If you are in Polignano A Mare this restaurant is a must. You have to eat the lubina and the pasta with lobster.

Great restaurant! I love the vibe! The host makes you feel like family! He recognizes everyone! My sister and I came here and he did so much. She is a vegetarian and he created dishes for her! On our last night, we didn’t have a reservation and he recognized us and gave us a table immediately. I really appreciate the family energy as an Italian-American too! Totally recommend and the food is so yummy too!

We were very lucky to get the last table available at this lovely and very popular restaurant! Beautifully appointed, Antiche Mura specialises in fish and seafood, and they do it so very well! Service was impeccable and friendly, and we appreciated the amuse-bouche with a delightful matching sparkling wine from the region as well as the suggestion of an octopus salad to accompany our meals. I suggest it now, too!

Wow.. just wow. We looked up this place in Culture trip, we called and we booked a table the same days. We absolutely loved it. The tuna carpaccio was one of the best dishes I ever had. The service was extremely kind, fast and attentive. Ingredients were the best quality. The place was authentic and friendly. Price was very appropriate. We totally recommend it!

Unreal pastas. Our entire table got two orders EACH of pasta, it was THAT good. I loved their tuna carpaccio as well. Beautiful restaurant. Amazing service. You can tell the owner is extremely passionate about his restaurant. Him and his mother (the master chef behind the operations) are such sweethearts.

Such a classy restaurant. We started off with Caprese salad. Then had gnocchetti with mussels and mushrooms, this was superb. We also had trofiette with salmon, pesto and walnut. This was also excellent. We shared a plate of calamari and prawns, this was a very good way to end the dinner. Definitely recommend when in Polignano a Mare. Service could not be faulted.

Antiche Mura looks like a normal simple restaurant from outside but absolutely beautiful inside. The decoration gives Antiche Mura a very posh atmosphere and you can really feel the sense of Italian architecture inside.

I was pretty lucky to be able to squeeze in without a reservation but other people were turned away. There’re less than 20 tables inside so you’d better book in advance.

What I like the most is the mixed grilled seafood. How the food arranged was too funny. The chef must have a good time. Fried seafood was lovely and not as salty as other places that I’ve tried in Puglia. The quality of the seafood is top notch. Best grilled prawn of the trip. Strongly recommend

The pasta “the sea itself” is very interesting. Having many Italian friends made me realise how Italians like their food. With such beautiful ingredients, they won’t mask it with a lot of seasoning and the food sometimes can come across “bland” to some people. They preserved the taste of the oyster & sea urchin very well. If I have to fail it somehow, I would say the tough texture of (fairly big) pasta is too much of a contrast to the soft texture of the oyster & sea urchin. For €16, it’s expensive so I would probably recommend the tagliolini with seafood with you want something with more seafood than 3 oysters and a few piece of sea urchin.

I also recommend the raw seafood starter. We didn’t order it but I’ve seen it and it looks insanely fresh and delicious.

In terms of service, I can’t false them at all. Everyone seems to love their job and very enthusiastic while speaking to us. They also love wine and would probably won’t stop talking about it until you say so.

Overall, the atmosphere, the service and the food balance itself out and I’m happy with 5 stars. If you like high quality seafood, fancy restaurant and a good time, make a reservation :)
