Wow, you always see picks of the Tower, but I had no idea the rest of the buildings in the area were so gorgerous. The door facing the Cathedral is exquisite. Inside the builders have created an incredible space. It's full of interesting historical details, if the Tower never existed the Cathedral complex would be just as busy with tourists.

A beautiful round building right in front of the duomo. It seems to be larger than the one in Florence. It also offers an upper gallery for people to walk around.

Beautiful structure! I thought this was interesting and neat to see! I got the combo tickets that bundled the leaning tower tickets and a bunch of other attractions here. The inside of this building was quite impressive, and we climbed to the top for an even better view! I recommend checking it out, but with the bundle of the tower tickets!

The highlight of the visit to the baptistery was witnessing the steward demonstrating the acoustics of the dome.
There is a 10 second echo which allows him to harmonise with himself. We watched this from the upper balcony and it was very powerful.
The rest of the building is majestic and in keeping with the other religious buildings on the site

One of the most beautiful monuments with the leaning tower of Pisa at the back side. The white colour attracts you to see and keep looking. The area is also very nice. You can also come to visit during sunset or at night for a different view. It's beautiful!! Must visit !!

It's worth the price of admission for the views alone. Up in the top, looking towards the Cathedral and Leaning Tower, was my favorite spot in Pisa. It wasn't crowded - the ticketing helps keep it manageable - and you have a perfect view over the piazza.

It's really beautiful from the inside, a video can be watched for 2€. There's a starcase heading up to the upper level, it's not too narrow. We could get in easily, there was no one at the entrance. We bought the ticket at the Sinopie Museum.

It is more beautiful from outside than inside, but it is worth it to buy ticket to go inside for the hourly demo of building acoustics and the view of the cathedral from the top floor.

Nice structure. Not like the one in Florence though. Overall, the surrounding atmosphere makes it look interesting and great. The lush green grass makes the view even better.

Lives up to the iconic reputation. We enjoyed viewing this spot. We didn’t have enough time to go in and take a full tour but took a stroll around the grounds . There’s a massive square before you enter and there was amazing restaurants and gelato shops to buy delicious food from. The architecture is fantastic and really give a a sense of grandeur. Gets quite busy in the afternoons so a suggestion is to go in the morning. Wonderful bucket list destinations for a keen traveler. Kind of a must if you are travelling Italy.

I recommend to buy a combined ticket for all attractions in Piazza del Duomo, because each place is truly magical! The price is 27€ and it is best to book it in advance online. The Baptistery is a wonderful building, it looks majestic from the outside, but inside the climate is more severe, but matters is the acoustics of the interior.

Nice place to visit. Every hour there is a demonstration of how the dome transmits sound. Stained glass windows in the windows deserve attention. Noteworthy when visiting.

The Baptistery of San Giovanni is the largest baptistery in Italy.

It's advisable to check with the ticket counter before purchasing a ticket, as there might be baptism ceremonies taking place, which may result in off-limit access for tourists for half a day.

The interior of the baptistery is primarily a spacious hall, and if you decide not to enter, you probably won't miss out much.

It’s easy to head straight for the leaning tower but the baptistery is worth a quick stop. It’s beautiful inside & out.

In the beautiful region of Tuscany, where vineyards, history, art, harmony, nature and beauty are just some of the beauty of living, Pisa is located. Apart from the famous Leaning Tower and the Cathedral is known for the exceptional baptistery of St. John the Baptist. It is located on Campo dei Miracoli, the so-called "Field of Miracles". Although it began in the Romanesque style, the Baptistery was completed in the Gothic style, and its interior is adorned with a pulpit from the 13th century and a bronze figure of St. John the Baptist. Construction began in 1152 to replace the older baptistery, and when completed in 1363, became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli, near the Duomo of Pisa and the cathedral's free-standing campanile, the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. The baptistery was designed by Diotisalvi, whose signature can be read on two pillars inside the building, with the date 1153. The dome is covered by lead sheets on the east and red tiles towards the west. Much of the exterior decorations were done by the talented Niccolo Pisano and his son Giovanni in the late 13th century. The busts of prophets and apostles on the arcades are copies, the originals by Giovanni Pisano are now mostly in the Cathedral Museum. The main portal is decorated with reliefs including the events from the life of John the Baptist carved into the pillars flanking the portal. The baptistery inside is magnificent, among other things it has exceptional echos. These echoes are enhanced by the cylindrical shape of the baptistry topped by a pyramidal-shaped interior roof, rather than the round cupola seen from the outside. The most important artwork in the Baptistery is the exceptional pulpit sculpted by Niccola Pisano in 1260, many art historians start the Renaissance from here.
