Sardinia is a wonderful sunny island. The people are so nice and kind. Alghero has a long coastal beach that you can easily walk or cycle towards Capo Caccia.
Many shops in old town of Alghero, nice cafes, cobblestone streets and nice architecture overlooking the sea.
Prison which you can visit and boat tours available. Many narrow streets with stunning views. Sand is so white and sea has many shades of turquoise and blue.

In my review i'm going to talk about the area around Alghero in the north-west.

Alghero is known for its ancient history.
It has a well-preserved historical center with narrow stone streets, colorful houses, and numerous historic buildings, including the Church of San Francesco and the Alghero Castle.
It is also home to the museum of red coral, built inside a unique Liberty-style villa, where this precious Mediterranean resource is preserved.

Walking through the historical center you will find dozens of shops, bars, restaurants and activities to suit all tastes. Although it is mostly a destination for an older audience, you can find some local pubs where music will play until late at night.

The Alghero seaside is another place of interest, with breathtaking views of the coast and a wide choice of restaurants, bars and shops.
One of the most distinctive features of Alghero is its Catalan language and culture. The city was long controlled by the Catalans and this influence is still evident today in the language spoken by most of the population and in the architecture.

In terms of activities, Alghero offers a wide range of activities to satisfy visitors, from the relaxing Maria Pia beach to the exciting boat trip to see the Neptune caves. In addition, the city is surrounded by fantastic countryside, perfect for walking or cycling.
In the same countryside, there are many farmhouses where you can try the local specialties, with prices ranging from 25 euros upwards for a fixed menu.

If you want to try other beaches besides the main ones in Alghero, you can opt for the relaxing Mugoni beach, where, if you can go outside the August weeks, you can find your own free space.
Another beach, continuing along the coastline, is Porto Ferro.
This beach also has a good part of free beach and a small part for nudists, although it only has a beach bar for services.
In the Porto Ferro beach bar, they often organize live music at sunset and there is a truly evocative atmosphere, thanks also to the fact that the sun sets right in the middle of the bay.
The second and last restaurant, just behind, really offers good and abundant dishes at reasonable prices.

If you stay longer, you can visit other secondary coves, or head towards Bosa, where in the summer there are often parties and festivals.
If you feel like it, or move away for a few days, I also recommend the beautiful beaches near Oristano such as Is Arutas and mari Ermi.
With their white pebbles they create a beautiful effect on the seabed, and the surrounding nature is wild and relaxing.

Other cities that can be visited in the surrounding area, about an hour's drive away, are Sassari, Stintino, and Castelsardo.
Just on the way to Stintino, a few kilometers before, there is a beach completely formed by quartz, which gives it its characteristic white color. The water is crystal clear and blue, reminiscent of the beaches of Oristano, and parking is also free. It is also suitable for camping.

In conclusion, Alghero is a fascinating city that offers a unique combination of history...

Sardegna is a beautiful island in its own way. It is worth visiting each individual city, because there is its own history. Incredibly nice beaches with blue water 😘

Second time to Sardinia. It’s such a beautiful island and the weather in March/April is perfect. Managed to see so much during our driving holiday this time. Highly recommend getting a car and taking to the road.

A wonderfull island
A perfect combination between mountains and sea.
A magic place for those seeking activities in nature.
In Cala Ganone you can stay one year and every day you could fund another place for action sports!
Climbing, diving, canyoning, bikeing, via ferrata, you name it!
The only minus is the safety of some via ferrata and the controversy around Cabirol via ferrata

Sardinia is unique. But i won't tell about the incredible places I've been, as the other 2000 reviews already told, but i'm going to talk bout the things you shouldn't do if you plan a chill holiday.
First, don't book your stay in July-August if it's possible.
Beaches are full of people like Sunday football stadium, especially in national park of Orosei (which is the most breathtaking area with unique beaches and landscapes).
Several times I had to move in another places because of it.
Temperatures are high, (last year 40 C° every day) so you don't have to forget to take Hats, Suncreams, (protection 50 if you come from north European countries)and umbrellas as the sun is really strong.
Keep in mind that the most famous and important beaches have private parkings so you have to pay from 5 to 10 euro per day.

What a beautiful stunning Island. If you avoid the Esmeralda coast part, which is artificial and build there especially and far too busy, then you will encounter beautiful landscapes, rough at times and the most incredibly beaches. Not all are allowed to be entered bcs of nature but wow!!

One of the most beautiful islands of the world. The beaches and sea outshine most of the more famous beaches of the world. And there's not only beach and sea: also the inland part, with the welcoming people, the ancient typical towers of 3/4.000 years old - and still standing - called "nuraghi", the wall paintings called "murales" in small villages, is a must to see.

Paradise!

We love Sardinia, but we super love Bosa most of all. Making friends with the local was so simple and easy, we learned soooooo much about Sardinia and our favorite spot, “Bosa”

Sardinia (/sɑːrˈdɪniə/ sar-DIN-ee-ə; Italian: Sardegna [sarˈdeɲɲa]; Sardinian: Sardigna [saɾˈdiɲɲa] or Sardìnnia [saɾˈdinja]; Sassarese: Sardhigna; Gallurese: Saldigna; Algherese: Sardenya; Tabarchino: Sardegna) is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily. It is located west of the Italian Peninsula, north of Tunisia and eastern Algeria, and immediately south of the French island of Corsica. The Sardinian railway system was developed starting from the 19th century by the Welsh engineer Benjamin Piercy. Today there are two different railway operators: Trenitalia which connects the most populated towns, the main ports and also the Italian peninsula through the use of train ferries. This network is the most modern on the island, running primarily diesel locomotives such as the Alstom Minuetto and, from 2015 the faster tilting train CAF ATR365 and ATR 465, specifically designed for the Sardinian railway network; ARST: the trains run on narrow-gauge track, are generally slow, due to the tortuosity of the lines, except for the electrified tram-trains operating in the metropolitan areas of Sassari and Cagliari. The Trenino Verde (Little Green Train) is a railway tourism service operated by ARST. Vintage railcars and steam locomotives run through the wildest parts of the island. They allow the traveller to have scenic views impossible to see from the main roads.

A sunny escape at the Mediterranean island of Sardinia in Italy. 🇮🇹 Chosen by many as a summer and beach destination, Sardinia is a one-of-a-kind destination that boasts its unique charm!

Besides its clear, pristine waters and beautifully rugged landscapes, Sardinia also boasts several prehistoric sites and cuisine that's quite distinct from the rest of Italy. If you're keen on traveling to a tropical paradise with a rich heritage, this sun-soaked island is just what you're looking for. ☀

Loved visiting Olbia. It's not over crowded with tourists. The food is lovely, landscape is amazing, and it's truly a hidden gem. Cannot wait to explore other parts of the island.

I love Sardegna. I traveled there for the last 20 years every year from Switzerland and recommend it over any place in Italy.

I recommend to fly to Olbia aeroport and rent a car and go down east/north and do all the "Costa Smeralda". Beautiful beaches, restaurant and best people ever.

For the sporty people you can go to do kite-surf and windsurf in Porto-Pollo. Always wind and amazing regular wind.

For the chill people go to porto Rotondo, porto Cervo. I really recommend it.

Also the Market on Sundays or Saturday in the little places are amazing.

I would want to go to see the sunset go to phi beach, amazing bar with view.

I hope you enjoy this recommendation done with my experience and hearth.

Best
Francesco
