Grand Hotel Gardone

The Grand Hotel sits right on the lake and stretches quite a long way.Very Very grand with it's pool,cafe and beautiful flowers being the first thing you see. The local ducks seem very at home here as do some of the residents, probably staying here for a few weeks at a time.Inside the hotel is very colonial looking with memories of Churchill etc in glass cabinets.The service was a bit slow but I think that's the sort of pace they go and what a lovely place to sit and just chill out.The pool and the lido looked very inviting and the sun's right above you so plenty of shade needed.

We came for a visit as we stayed here 20 years ago. Place still amazing, service excellent. Now the sad part is it's going to be pulled down and replaced with a new Hilton. A part of Lake Garda's history gone!

First time there. We were very happy with the hotel, beautiful, clean, elegant. Everyone was very helpful, friendly, and professional. We found out while there that the hotel will be closed for three years for renovations. Although there were parts of the hotel, like the shower in the bedrooms and the elevator among other small things. It pays homage to a gone by era, it's beautiful and charming. I hope you don't change too much, I hope the hotel keeps what makes it special.

I can’t say enough about this hotel, from the moment we checked in to the time we checked out. The staff here are first class. Buffet breakfast was excellent and again the staff worked tirelessly to keep everything topped up.
The hotel itself was superb, set in a beautiful location on the lake with stunning views.

From the day we checked in to the day we left the service and facility was wonderful.
Big shout out to Barbara the manager as she was super helpful.
Location was a huge factor when we booked and wasn't disappointed.

We had a fantastic honeymoon at Grand Hotel Gardone. The staff were so polite and always willing to help. Massimo and his bar team were so welcoming every evening and the live music was great.

The room was a great size and it was a lovely touch to have a complimentary bottle of bubbly. The food for breakfast and the evening was faultless and there was a fantastic variety.

Can't wait to come back!

Grand Hotel Gardone is a fabulous place to stay. I cannot fault any aspect of it from the location through to the service received at all times.
This is a traditional hotel - exactly what we wanted and exactly what we got. The hotel is beautifully and stylishly appointed in accordance with its history as a holiday destination, everywhere is very clean and well cared for both inside and in the grounds. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a fantastic range of foods for every taste and the a la carte restaurant similarly of a high standard with very good menu. Eating out also is very easy with much choice within a very short walk.
Pool and lakeside sitting/sunbed areas are extensive and never felt overcrowded - the attractive surroundings and outdoor bar adding to the relaxing ambience.
Service everywhere was really superb - we couldn't have asked for more attentive, but discreet staff who seemed justifiably proud of the hotel and what it offers. Certainly this is a hotel to return to for us.

Fabulous hotel, right on the lake. Clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast also very nice.

Consider that this hotel’s charm is in its age. It is not a modern hotel by any measure, and you even have to park your own car away from the property. With this in mind I still have it a 5 star because it’s totally understandable and the staff make up for it in spades. Food is quite good, breakfast staff and selection was excellent, and the hotel is sparkling clean. I loved it.

This was excellent going back in time to colonial rooms were excellent over looking the lake you could get the ferry to different locations. Plenty of restaurants as it was expensive to eat in hotel. Again don't go out of season as it would cost a lot to eat in hotel every day. Breakfast was included but you had to pay for eggs which ever way you wanted them. Brilliant location

I have just come back from a seven day stay at the Grand Hotel Gardone. Had an excellent time, food was great. Staff first class very friendly and helpful. This was my first holiday on my own and they could not have been more welcoming. Excellent room with a beautiful view would recommend lake Garda and the hotel.

Excellent hotel with comfortable rooms and opulent dining room bar and residents lounge. Very attentive staff who deliver friendly service and advice. This our third visit to this hotel and we hope to return again. In two words it provides 'timeless elegance'.

We have just returned from an idyllic two weeks at the Grand Hotel Gardone. Super room, fantastic views, wonderful staff and ALL so very helpful especially Barbara and her team on Reception. The Restaurant is delightful and the food was good and much improved on last year. Roberto and his team were always so welcoming to the restaurant and so very efficient - the Grand Hotel Breakfast could well set you up for the day! We hope to be able to go back again and again!!

Lovely hotel. Excellent helpful staff, fabulous views of the lake, lovely pool, great food. We stayed in junior suite which was modern, very spacious and had 2 balconies and full height windows.

A chic place for an elegant lunch with Garda lake kissing your feet. Top class friendly service. Very tasty and adventurous food in the menu.

This is my favourite hotel in the whole world.It has an air of elegance and charm from the Belle Époque era.It is such a special place,positioned right on the lake,when you open the balcony window,the view is almost as if you are on a boat out on the lake.The long gardens run the length of the hotel,with colourful,tropical flora,including palms and magnolia trees.Bougainvillea covers the walls outside and beds of brightly coloured flowers are everywhere.The swimming pool is very attractive and from the lounge chairs you can watch the boats glide past,up and down the lake.There is a platform also for sun-bathers and ladders down into the lake for swimming,At night time the outdoor paths are lit up with ornamental decorative lamps and there is a romantic outdoor bar on the lake.The breakfast room has windows looking out on the lake and also an outdoor terrace area.It has an extensive breakfast buffet with very attentive and helpful staff.The reception staff are equally helpful and lovely.Barbara,a manager is amazing.She speaks many languages,has a delightful personality,is so capable and efficient.They are lucky to have her,she is worth her weight in gold!There is nothing to fault,everything at the Grand Hotel works like clockwork,and you will be greeted with a smile from start to finish.Gardone Riviera is a delightfully quiet,tranquil spot on Lake Garda,with a lovely range of restaurants,bars and cafes.

The hotel is very large. It is on the edge of the lake and below the Alps mountains. It is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. There are also locations to eat in the hotel.

The cocktail bar was a very pleasant experience. Friendly and professional staff, an outdoor seating area with an excellent view, and the cocktail was the best that I've had in Gardone so far.

I have stayed here many times. The setting is beautiful. The staff are very friendly. Massimo and Gianluca are superb. Great value for money. Close to local bars and restaurants. One of my favourite places in the World.

Beautiful hotel with old world charm, for older generation or if you like quiet. Can take a 20min ferry to guarda across the lake. Food delicious, service terrific...breakfast included...will go again!
