Kálfshamarsvík

An amazing place to visit! Very few to non people out there. My wife and I visited this place for couple of hours and it was amazing! Sublime place with very interesting geological formations! If you have some spear time, a must place to visit!
It is about 10 km dirt road to take before getting to this place, 4x4 car might be good, but even regular car will easily make the trip, just make sure to check with your rent place, they might now allow it.
Highly recommended…

Beautiful scenery, and very peaceful. We were the only tourists there at the time. There's even a public toilet which is clean and well equipped! It's a bit of a drive, but well worth the visit, also because of the plenty of horses you can view on the way there.

Amazing place. Wish I had arrived earlier to spend more time there.

Spiaggia di basalto che merita per le diverse direzioni in cui sembra si sia fermato e antica casa a zolle. Segui questa indicazione del GPS 66°01'03.6"N 20°25'43.2"W

Consiglio la visita non tanto per il faro, ma per le spettacolari colonne basaltiche

Bellissimo faro degli anni '40. Raggiungibile per strada sterrata. Consigliabile, ma non obbligatorio, un 4x4. Il faro è stato edificato su una piccola penisola con le colonne basaltiche tra le più belle che abbia visto in Islanda. Poco se non per nulla frequentato dai turisti, merita una visita. Piccolo particolare: durante la mia visita, nei pressi della costruzione, avevano nidificato delle sterne artiche. Meglio stare alla larga dai nidi per evitare di essere attaccati ;)
