Great spot to hangout and take in the sea breeze! Beautiful little town, with an amazing coffee shop right there as well. Can’t wait to come back to catch the northern lights! Very close to the airport

The Garður Old Lighthouse, situated in the town of Garður on the Reykjanes Peninsula, stands as a testament to Iceland's maritime history and its inherent connection to the sea. It provides a serene backdrop for visitors, especially bird enthusiasts as the area is frequented by a diverse array of bird species. For a tranquil experience, plan a visit around sunset when the blend of the lighthouse's gentle glow and the fiery Icelandic dusk paints a picture that will forever be etched in your memory.

Beautiful place to visit 18 min from the airport it is a must. Great location to capture the Aurora as long as it is clear.

Winter stay! There weren't too many amenities but we expected that for the winter. The actual campsite wasn't the best place to see the northern lights (still ok) because there were a ton of street lights but if you drive less than 5 min away down the beach it's perfect. Bathrooms were clean and the area was quiet.

Five stars for holding the strongest winds in Reykjanes peninsula so far! Tied up with the winds at Gulfoss...

A 2 for 1 lighthouse visit in this location. We stopped here on our way to the airport, which is just a short detour.
You can’t go in this one but you can walk right up to it. Great for some seaside pics and a walk in the area. There is a 2nd larger lighthouse right there, and a museum and boat you can also look at (may be a fee involved).
Nice spot for lighthouse enthusiasts

Freezing cold, Fiercely windy day but gorgeous sunshine and the bluest sky..perfect setting for our photographs of the stunning lighthouses and the old trawler. 24 hour toilets available. Sadly the museum due to cleaning. Quirky curio shop and cafe close by. Sea views exquisite

Really cool old lighthouses. Got there around dusk and it was beautiful to see them illuminated at night. Walk over to the Old Lighthouse Cafe for a great meal!

This is always our final stop on our way back to the airport (less than 20 mins away). Wonderful views and plenty of seabirds (including harlequin duck). A fitting end to our adventures. Been here three times and it has always been very windy.

Nice lighthouse, located near a parking lot. Access to a beach for walking. Two lighthouses on the same place, the oldest one built in 1897.
