Amazing, like being on another planet. I would recommend stopping and walking around. There was a stop off just up the street with multiple cars but when we pulled off here there was no one else here.

So cool!!!! We loved this stop!!! Heaps of places along this route but here you could walk along some little tracks across the moss.

As previous people have said - just park on the gravel just off the main route and walk. The road can get a bit wild and it's hard to turn around!

Awesome brainy look of lava field covered with wooly fringe moss. Worth driving little self drive 10min tour through the endless field

This stop is not with “limited” paths, but still worth to stop and have a short walk. Please not on moss directly!

HUGE lava field covered in carpet moss. Very cool to see and hike through. Try not to step on the love moss. It takes sooo long to regrow.

Beautiful spot to appreciate the mossy lava fields. There's a dirt carpark/road off the main ring road where you can stop and go for a bit of an explore. I'd say it's better than the proper view point 500m down road as it's away from the tourist and there's lots of nice little spots to take a decent photo.

Drive on this road!! You can do it carefully with a regular car, stop by, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, like on another planet.

We stopped on our way back from Glacier Bay going towards Vik on the Ring Rd. We stopped quickly to get some good pics of the lava fields. It was a quick stop for us but dirt roads are throughout that you can travel on.

Was not a planed stop for us, but we saw a car stopped so decided to check it out. Very interesting and beautiful. If you have a drone this is a good spot to fly and take some interesting videos

Very scenic place. Recommend to find a safe spot off the ring road to make some pictures. Especially in the evening light with a low sun, it looks fantastic
