We had a blast camping here at the end of September, just before they closed up shop for the season (this spot is open from May to September). Let me tell you, this campground is an absolute gem! It's huge, offering accommodations for cabins, tent enthusiasts, and camper van for car camping. It's not a typical crowded campground; people are spread out, giving you that extra bit of elbow room compared to other Iceland campgrounds.

This place is hands down our favorite campground of our entire Iceland adventure! It's wonderfully serene, and the view? Oh boy, it's nothing short of spectacular. Picture yourself nestled at the base of a majestic mountain with cascading waterfalls – yes, you read that right!

Now, the common area there's a lot of space to whip up some delicious campfire grub and dine like kings and queens. Hot showers are thrown in with your fees, and the restrooms? You bet they're squeaky clean.

To put a cherry on top, it is also the night my wife and I were treated to a dazzling display of the northern lights. It was our first time ever, and it made this campsite even more enchanting in our hearts. Trust me, this place is not just a campground; it's an unforgettable adventure waiting to happen! 🏕✨

Great camping. The gentleman at reception was very attentive and friendly. It has a good structure, 5 showers, 4 toilets and a reasonably large closed kitchen area (as it is a good canping site, it attracts a lot of people and soon gets crowded). The surroundings are beautiful and super close to major attractions such as the glacier. The price was 1800 per person (including bath).

It's a lovely campsite. A big plus is the communal building where you could cook and have your meal. Beautiful surroundings. We were there at 4.30 pm, and it was super quiet. Around 8 p.m., the campsite was fully packed. (we travelled mid-Sept and slept in a 4x4)

Pretty epic place to stay! Only three showers available at the time. Spacious kitchen with nice facilities available on the spot. The small cabins are quite good - warm, with sink, table and radiator.

One of the best camps i have ever visited during our stay. Big kitchen / room, clean and big toilets and showers and views like from movie. Amazing!

There are also small cottages for sleep in, if you do not have tent or car (recommend book them in advance).

Stayed in the house with the blue roof and that was perfect for our needs. The house has a shared kitchen and 2 shared bathrooms plus a dining room, and about 5 bedrooms with each their own key. Booked and paid extra for the sheets / duvets since we didn't travel with sleeping bags. Friendly and kind owner, all was clean and comfortable. Kind of like staying as a guest in your grandparents' house. At least during our stay it was quiet even as the house was almost full, but that could depend on who is in the other rooms. // Couple in our thirties from Finland

Good camping spot if you are doing the ring road. They have an spacious kitchen and common area. Camping price was fairly decent in comparison to other camping site. Showers were good 👌

Great campground. Dining hall was spacious. At one end there are 2 cooking stations in the corners and a sink in the middle. Kettles and some basic cooking utensils.

Plenty of space to sit, chat and eat. There are a few power points around so can charge electronics.

Shower and toilets were warm and clean.

Lovely camp spot well located and away from the main road. Clean, good and warm kitchen facilities. Good showers. Not crowded.
The local man from reception was pretty friendly and kind. Beautiful view and lots of cute sheeps around ☺

Pro: Lots of facilities. Good shower. There was a big kitchen and eating room with a big fridge, stoves and kettles. Good pricing (1800 ISK per person) as this campsite actually has everything one needs.
Con: A bit busy but what do you expect in the summer season in this area.

Bathrooms - Three spacious showers per gender. We arrived around 7.30pm and were able to get straight into the showers no wait. However later in the evening there was people waiting. A few toilets in the main building. Two toilets per gender uo near reception also.

Kitchen- very large indoor seating area. Lots of tables. Only one in door sink which causes a bit of a wait time. Two toasters and two kettles, 4 burners for cooking. A fridge.

Costs - 1300isk per person.

Other - seems to be a site were small tour groups stop so they do big cook ups.

Well organized and clean. Nice kitchen and probably one of the largest public area we seen. 2 toilets & 1 shower each in man and woman’s restroom. 4 more showers in individual. Came here for the glacier hiking tour on the next morning only about 10min drive away.

Really, I want to give 4.5 stars but for the value, I rounded up the 5 stars. When we stayed in early August 2023, it was very busy. It had also rained that day.
There is a nice kitchen dining area with two cook tops with 2 burners each. There was one sink between them. There were 2 electric hot water kettles and 2 toasters. There was a wait for everything, including the hot water kettles. There was a fridge for people to use. There were some pots and pans to use as well but not eating utensils or dishes The tables were all full of people. So even though the facilities looked nice, I didn't end up using them. The kitchen closes from 23:00 to 7:00.
There is a men and women's bathroom, each with 2 bathrooms stalls. There are a total of 5 shower stalls, some accessed from the outside of the building and one in each bathroom. There is a separate building with 4 bathroom stalls.
There is plenty of space for tents, campers and RVs, maybe more space than the facilities can really handle. It would have been helpful to have outdoor sinks for washing. The line to wash dishes for quite long.
The location is great, it's a 10 min drive to the visitor center and trails of the national park. The price is great, 1800 ICK per person which is much less than the national park official campsite and has the kitchen.

I took the pictures around 5 am when the kitchen was technically closed but things were quiet and empty.

Very nice staff, clean toilets and showers, beautiful spot for camping, also cottages available. Kitchen is clean and fully equipped. The only problem that sometimes water in the shower was unexpectedly cold

Great campsite! Common room is large- it has many tables/chairs, hot water kettles, stoves, and a sink for dishes. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Wifi worked well. Plenty of space for campervans. Showers are free.

Our experience at the camp was fabulous. Facilities are clean and with everything you need. The campground is spacious and quiet. Nature around it, is stunning. And most importantly, the staff is extremely friendly. We can without a doubt, recommend.

This campground was beautiful! We stayed here the night before hiking at the glacier. Parking area is flat, and the views are breathtaking. There is a large kitchen with lots of tables and free hot showers with clean bathrooms!

Plenty space in the communal kitchen space(but limited in facilities, as there can be a line for cooking, so better use your own things). The space is heated.
Few common showers and each gender toilet has an exta one inside. Included in the price. Area is clean.

Quite a lot of space for tents. No wi-fi.
