Rauðárfoss

Not one of the bigger ones around, but what makes this one so nice is that it’s off the beaten path a bit. We hung out here for an hour and saw maybe 4 other people. You have to take a rough gravel ride for maybe a kilometer to get to parking area, from there it’s maybe a 5 min walk, round the corner and there it is! Flow is lower than most, so you can walk in and through it. Super fun!

Beautiful hidden gem. Not the most powerful or big waterfall of course, but it had this perfect combination of colours and calmness. Also, there were no other tourists, so we had this place to enjoy for ourselves. Just drive the Systrapi road until the signs tell you to stop, follow the walking path and you’ll find the waterfall after approximately 5 minutes of walking. Enjoy!

A small waterfall on the hike. Need to cross the water in order to continue. Not very deep easily done (september). Nice view from the short and easy hike.

Waterfalls are different from one to another. Worth to pay a visit with camping site. Close to bakery and a store. Dont forget to climb in two sister lake to add more spice in your adventure.

Great Spot!
Just 5-10min walk from the end of the official Road.
Keep on the path that does not go uphill.
More sheeps than visitors 😉

Tutto sommato in Islanda il meteo può essere considerato strano più che brutto, un meteo brutto è quello che non dà tregua dalla pioggia, o dal freddo, o dal vento fortissimo, oppure grandine/neve, sole che picchia caldissimo insopportabile... ecco in Islanda queste cose danno fastidio tutte insieme alternandosi ogni 15 minuti

бобров очень много, мне не понравилось, я хотела чтоб моих воображаемых друзей обслужили, а они сказали что я не нормальная, в итоге пришлось избавится от них.
