Amazing location, rooms, staff, food, and recommendations.

Breakfast and dinner here was 5 / 5. Highly recommend. Breakfast was fresh and bountiful. Dinner was pricey, but was more than worth it. Everyone absolutely loved their choice in dishes.

Rooms were very clean, spacious, and detailed. Heated floors, very comfy beds, high tech TVs.

Staff was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Thank you to all of them.

If I had one complaint, it sounded like maybe a small squirl or something could've been in the roof or wall. It was very sporadic, but I could hear some noises in the walls. This is difficult to completely prevent during the winter. Those woodland creatures like the comfortable accommodations too!

This is such a lovely place and close to all of the glacier sites. I love the individual cabins and there is a central eating area where we went for breakfast and dinner. I had an accessible room and it was large, clean, and comfortable. There was a small refrigerator, nespresso coffee machine and kettle in the room. The back of the cabin looked out onto the landscape and I could sit outside on my small deck and enjoy the scenery. What a fantastic place! The only downside is that it wasn't a good night for seeing the northern lights when I was staying there.

One night stay on our way to Diamond Beach. Perfect location. Stunning views. Comfortable and clean. Beautifully styled. Loved the heated floors, green roof, and huge slider with deck. The breakfast room was a little cramped. But offered nice options, loved the green juice. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The most amazing stay in Iceland. In a great distant location within nature, where each cabin resides on its own. You can enjoy a spacious, clean, modern room with all the amenities you might want, and a stunning view. Moreover, the restaurant serves great delicious dishes and wine. If you are lucky, you might enjoy aurora as well did.

Perfect for couple! The view from my room is amazing! It's a perfect place to stay if you want to catch aurora not cold, you'll be able to see them just by opening your curtains....

Really first class place. Great value for money. Not cheap but really nice. Family room was just about big enough for 5. Food was delicious. Only thing missing is a hot tub, and maybe a communal lounge area. Great for northern light viewing from the property as it is so dark just 2 mins walk from rooms.

I loved this cabin take on a hotel! The large windows with beautiful views was the highlight. The bed and bedding was comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast was also delicious.

We travelled (by car) the south coast of Iceland in Dec 2023. Hotel Magma was definitely the best hotel we stayed in across the 7-nights. The cabins are beautiful and the finishes and features elevate it from other locations - heated flooring, chrome casting to TV (which was a great size - all others were tiny), Nespresso etc. We ate in the resto one night and while expensive (like everywhere in Iceland) it was very good and generous. What could make it better? Breakfast was disappointing - no coffee machine working at the time and not as generous or varied options as other hotels, plates were also small. Good northern light tracker in lobby although we didn’t see any. Overall, if you can, book Hotel Magma - it’s a great spot and you’ll be happy the moment t you open the cabin door!

One of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip around the ring road. Our room looked out onto the water, comfy bed with two pillows, quiet location, just off the ring road. The Bistro is delicious, one of the best dinners we had all trip.

Best hotel on our trip doing the ring road around Iceland. Incredible view, off the road, quiet. perfectly cozy rooms. All the amenities you would want, large sink, en-suite bath, 2 pillows per person, comfy bed, bluetooth stereo in the room. best breakfast we had on the whole trip in a hotel. absolutely stay here.

Very lovely hotel where the rooms are tiny houses. Try to get a room with lake view! The restaurant also is worth to visit.

We had a great stay in a very nice room. It was all about the view of the room as you can see in the picture. We found the checkinn time of 16h very late as it was already dark in winter.

Loved this hotel. Rooms have a full-side window with beautiful views, especially striking in the morning. The room was well designed, with thoughtful details like a bluetooth speaker, bathroom window, heated towel rack, and high-end bath products. Breakfasts and dinners at their restaurant were excellent too.

Adorable quaint small houses as rooms. Glass sliding doors to the back with a serene view. When I entered the room it had a spa-like aromatherapy smell which was very pleasant. The shampoo smell is delightful a mix of Birch, bearberry and willow, though I was very disappointed with the conditioner it was a very unpleasant smell like old conditioner thats been sitting on a self for several years. I expected something different as the shampoo was so pleasant, I had to recondition my hair with my own conditioner just to get rid of the smell. The water pressure and the hot water was on point! TV is Samsung and available with Chromecast. Only issue I had was that the volume on the TV was not working when I casted from my phone even though the volume was up on both devices. The restaurant on-site very good cauliflower soup, surprisingly good considering I am not a huge fan of cauliflower. The salmon dinner served with polenta was very good as well.

Great experience. The room was very well done. Bathrooms are very large; each had it's own hotwater heater so no issues. Beds were quite comfortable, and the rooms have incredible views (doors open as well as window).

The restaurant on site does an excellent job. We had dinner there (fantastic) as well as breakfast buffet (traditional), which was also very good.

Great place to stay, you may not like the individual cabins as you have to go outside to get to them and guess it is better in the summer, but we loved them. They all have views of lake or mountains. They are very well appointed, breakfast is good. Food in the evenings is good, though expensive as everywhere in Iceland. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
