Will be perfect if there is better pest control to rid those irritating houseflies. Setback is heater not very efficient as have to wait for it to heat up again after 2 persons have showered.

Perfect place to stay as a group when you're traveling in the south

We really enjoyed our stay here, the cottage was cosy and warm and the staff were very helpful about our late arrival. The kitchen facilities were excellent and there was plenty of bedrooms and space.

Have a little campground that we stayed at. Decent wash up area and clean bathroom and shower. Unsure if there is a kitchen area as we just used our camping stove at the picnic table. Close to the highway, but didnt really notice the cars driving by

We stayed in the Hostel-style rooms, not the cottages. From the outside, they looked very nice. Anyways, our accommodations were great, private bathroom, TV in the room (Nearly no channels, but access to some radio stations which was good)

The free breakfast was great and all in all, it was a great experience.

A very nice quiet place at the foot of a mountain near a small farm. I spent only one night there but would like to stay longer. It was very windy at night, the house was creaking and I was afraid it would be blown down by the wind. Felt like in the middle of nowhere.

I stayed at this campsite the night before hiking up the glacier in Skaftafell, for which it's located very suitable. Just a 45 mins drive away.

Upon arrival, I read some negative reviews about this place, but I couldn't agree more! The owner welcomed us in a very warm way, and he proved to be even more hospitable when, out of the blue, he offered us a new gas bottle for our camping stove for free after our own died on us during cooking.

Also a big plus is the jacuzzi, perfect after a long day!

The campsite itself doesn't offer more than the necessities. Two toilets and a shower is all you get, but there are cleaning utensils for doing the dishes ready to use.

Very affordable. Rooms were very clean and comfy. Common areas were great and small kitchen was helpful.

The main building hosted breakfast (which was included). We also had dinner there (extra) which was more than filling and a fair price.

Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Parking was free.

This is a quaint place in Hörgsland to stay at. For those looking for a four star resort hotel to stay at with a night of luxury, this isn't the place. That's what makes it amazing. Yes, the internet and TV are spotty, but isn't that the beauty of being out in nature? It's a perfect place to be "off the map" and have the privacy of being in your own cabin. If you do your research beforehand, you will not be disappointed. It's a great place to stay as you make your way east through Iceland to visit some of the amazing parks. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant had some amazing food options. Highly, highly recommend.

Adorable cottage right up against the mountain. Fantastic views. Hot tub. Has a charcoal grill. Great location for exploring the south coast. The staff was also incredibly kind.

My partner and I rented a campervan for Iceland and stayed here for one evening. It was a beautiful place nestled into the mountainside. We used the camping facilities and were the only campers there. It had a few picnic tables and electric (though we didn't need it). There was a building with a covered sink that ran cold water. It also had two bathrooms and one shower with a hot water heater. As we were the only people using these facilities, it was great. In the morning, it was raining so we put our stove under the awning of the building to cook our breakfast and ate.
It had two hot tubs, but one of them wasn't working and the other wasn't making water hot, which was only a mild disappointment.

One of the best cottages in southern Iceland
The hosts are great
Spacious rooms
Good maintenance

Good heating
Though the bathroom was small, but no complaints about it

You've got a nice wooden table to yourself in your porch to enjoy soke great time with your companions..

There are 2 Jaccuzis in the open air which are a treat to the body after a long ride!!

The price for the cottages are on a higher side, but it's Iceland afterall.

The view around the cottages is just splendid!!
Mountains and starry sky on the rear of cottage were the highlight of the stay..

We stayed in the campsite and were the only ones there, probably because of the bad reviews? There is nothing wrong with this place other than that there showers were cold. 24/7 hottubs tho

I have just read past reviews... wow what a group of picky people.... i bet they stayed a day passing through... i and my three friends stayed at horgsland for 10 days.. yes ten days... sure internet was slow sometimes ... but hay its a cottage in iceland... it worked... cottages were very warm.. fun.. beautiful.. comfortable... we past many cottages on our travels of the south coast and NONE were as nice as horgsland. ... i did hear some americans at dinner slating the place but there arguments were pathetic... ive travelled the world and lived in some very basic places.. horgsland is way above those places. .. i Actually have recomended thus place to many people in my manic rants about how great iceland was... ignore the negative picky posts... come and relax ... i give it five stars.. i will come stay again
