B. Nongrum Tea Stall

The shop is marked closed on Google but it is actually up and running in Nov 2023.
It's a small shop with awesome food. We went to get a packed lunch quite early in the day, so some items were still being prepared. Locals were having their Ja & sha (rice and tea) with different non veg items.
The shop had lots of veg khasi style options though with dal, rice, very soft chapatis, black chana, aloo, tomato salad, mooli khlei (salad), karela, mixed veg and many more.
Everything was simple yet delicious and we really enjoyed our lunch.
Khasi hills is the only place I know that can make mixed veg taste 😋.
All vegetables are absolutely fresh and organic. They just taste so tender and nice. Even the karela was not bitter, despite not being too oily. I am glad we went there instead of any large restaurant.
It was so cost effective as well.
I paid just ₹80 for 3 chapatis and one large and one small portion of two veggies.
My friend paid just ₹300 for a portion of everything veg available at the time.
They also stock locally made pickles of bamboo shoots, berries, jackfruit etc and local honey.
