This sanctuary is located in Somwarpet taluk of the Kodagu district. It is home to rare and endangered birdlife.

The Kadamakkal reserve forest is a part of the sanctuary. Pushpagiri (Kumara Parvatha) is the highest peak in it. The sanctuary adjoins Bisle reserve forest to the north and Kukke Subramanya forest range to the west.

Mandalpatti peak, Kote betta and Makkalagudi betta are mountains fall in the sanctuary. Mallalli falls and Kote abbe waterfalls (also called as Mukkodlu falls) are located inside the sanctuary. The Pushpagiri Wildlife Sancutuary has been proposed as one of the World Heritage Site.

What a place Guys...The temple is a must visit place...It was a great Experience through Ghats

nowadays this Trek is Trending in South India. As obsessed everyone are coming to kukke subramanya base point but there is a another way from Somwarpete, kukke trek need 2days and 12kms(one sided) where Somwarpete trek can be done in one day and 7kms one side, that's not the point I think this 7kms give you much more satisfaction, that extreme feel and the terrain you go is next level and it's fully covered with trees so that it will be cool and main point is very less crowd u get it is really peace, and mainly I like to thank the forest department at Somwarpete base point there are very humble and friendly and they are even maintaining the forest very clean. Huge respect towards the officers. And guys try this route next time.

One of the beautiful trekking points in Karnataka and also very less popular. This hill has 2 names, Coorg people call it Pushpagiri and Uttara Kannada people call it Kumara parvatha. Trekking from Subramanya is very famous compared to Beedahalli, Somwarpet side. But I found this trail more beautiful than that. But scenic views is more beautiful Subramanya side compared to this.

It was wonderful experience trekking , The view from top of the peak which climb from 7km was worth and awesome

Start you hiking journey with the best views. Mountain ranges are beauty at this place. And the friendly villagers who provide good directions and food. Do make sure you visit the temple before trek for the good vibes and 700~ year old tree.

Kumara parvatha hill trekking east start point. A temple is nearby with parking, stay, bathrooms available in that temple hall. Big two floor hall and kitchen available at lower cost for staying large members like school, collage children. Space may stay at lower cost upto 100 people with your own bedsheets, if adjust 5 bathrooms. each genders.

Avoid plastic as much as possible, carry lunchbox from home even if you plan to get parcel from hotel. One and only drinking water source mid way to peak!
Forest gaurds charged us around 350/head.

Beautiful scenarios. .

Beautiful place, and best for treking. Best to go in the evenings or in the early mornings otherwise it becomes too sunny(we went in the summer and there is no shade when trekking)

Very beautiful view point. Best view in rainy season. Vehicles can go up to the top.
