Kankeshwar Temple

Wow..!! What a temple. Loved it. Stairs are quite steep in some places. You got to have quite a stamina to climb and walk up hill almost 3-4 km but it is worth and breathtaking.

Best place to visit in Alibag. Less crowded more adventurous.
Depending upon your strength and stamina will take you anywhere between 40 mins to 1:30 mins to complete the climb.
Best time to do this hike is before 11am in the morning (to and fro) as there is no shade installed.
Also, food is available near the temple at the top so no need to carry extra weight along the way.

It's a quiet,Divine place with pleasing atmosphere. The architect of temple is beautiful. The temple is situated on small hill, it is located near mapgaon (around 18 kms from alibaug). Facilities (like washroom and eateries) is available for bhaktgans. Must see if ever in Alibaug.

The temple is very nice. At the top of the mountain. You have to climb steps to reach the top. Superb temple. One should visit when you have plans for Alibaug.

It was Amazing climbing 750+ stairs to reach the top of the mountain & I saw some beautiful sights during the 3 hour walk to the top, I would suggest you to carry at least one bottle per person because if you are traveling at Afternoon you might get exhausted, one clean Handkerchief and Sunglasses to protect your eyes 👀 and also there are a few Small shops who have the necessary supplies if you run out of yours you can help them by buying stuffs ✅ from them and be prepared to climb those stairs as it will take a great amount of time and Strength 💪🏿, after you climb those stairs and reach the top you will be completely satisfied with the Mandir and the God's statue, I went at the time when there is not much crowd like Afternoon so it wasn't hectic for me except the hot and scorching heat from the sun, no ques no waiting in a line to Pray infront of the god, no rush at all just peaceful and calm vibes 💗 with just me and gods.

A very nice place to visit in the morning or evening. You will find peace of mind.
The temple will close by 7:00 pm in the evening.

A very nice place to visit but if you have knee pain or asthma please avoid going there.

Almost more than 750 steps climbing to reach the temple. Side scenes are very good to seeing and also beautiful lake view.

You also see Mumbai from the hills.

A stay facility is available but advance booking is required.

Food quality is average.

A beautiful and scenic place to visit in rainy season (preferred). A calm Lord Shiva temple along with other little Lord Shiva temple, Ganesh Mandir, Laksmi Narayan temple, samadhi and panchkarni. It takes around 1-2 hours to climb the mountain(through steps the only way to climb). You can look in the photos attached how beautiful this place looks. Felt blessed. The Lord Shiva Gabhara (mukya temple) is inside the main temple. Beautiful idols. The calmness. The peace. Everything here felt paid off after climbing around 650 steps. Ample parking space at the starting point of the Trek. No fees.

It's beautiful place. The temple is also beautiful and when we enter inside the temple, our mind also gets peace.. before entering the temple premises they have this small man-made water lake which is beautiful to watch. Those who know how to swim can enter without thinking, but others can stay at the edge and watch out for the swimmer jumping & diving..

There are total 650 steps to climb.But when u reach upp u get to see the beautiful temple. It's fabulous temple situated at the top of hill. It looks amazing no words to describe. Really blessed to visit this temple. The climb is worth it. Avoid the sun by doing it early in the morning. Breakfast and cold drink shops available

Loved the vibe... the trail is treacherous... so wouldn't recommend it for really old people as there are 650 stairs one side and in the rainy season it gets slippery ...

Kankeshwar is located at Mapgaon in Alibaug taluka. From Mapgaon you can start the trek.
The temple is situated at about twelve hundred and fifty feet and there are about 900 steps to reach this temple.
You can complete this track in about one to one and a half hours.
Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a bath in the clean water tank and enjoy the fresh fresh air at the top.The temple is said to house the awakening shrine of Lord Shankar and your mind is very happy when you come here.

Best place to go in any season...temple really very nice.. peaceful and holy place! You can see whole of the sea from top view points! Views are really beautiful 👌

Nearly 1200 steps will there plan to go in early morning ..

Very nice place & especially Brhamkund. At entry there is board of 650 steps but actually it's more than 1100 steps it takes more than 1 hr but its worthy trek .

There are total 700 steps to climb..But when u reach upp u get to see the beautiful temple. It looks amazing no words to describe. Really blessed to visit this temple. Har Har Mahadev❤🙏

It's too difficult to climb, so don't forget to get your water bottle with you because shops open at 8:00 am.

Also start this asap at 6:00 or 6:30 am
Otherwise weather will be too harsh/sunny so go with your hat and goggles too.

The Shiv mandir is there which is from the age of pandava's.
