The place is beautiful. We came walking from the beach. It's a 20 min walk for an adult group.
If you come to Kulaba Fort, please keep some food for a family of turtles which lives in the well within the premises. They come on the water surface to ask food. Monsoon is the best time to visit as it looks immensely green.

There is Rs. 25 entry fee. Usually the fort gets closed around 6 - 6:30PM so make sure you reach there by the latest 5 - 5:30PM so that you will get the entry.

Reach the fort before sunset, the view is beautiful. You can go sideways to the fort, there's another fort to the side.
I would suggest you to visit the fort in morning as you can walk or can have horse ride. It's not much crowded in the week days. Very peaceful area where you can sit and enjoy the sea n sunlight.

My first experience with a place between the sea. This fort has everything to explore all together. Must visit this place if you are on an alibag trip with your crew.

Beautiful fort built by Shivaji Maharaj. It is an old maritime base in Alibaugh. We need to take a ferry to reach there. Ferry cost is 200 to and fro per adult. Children till the age of 6 can go free. You will find eatery joints with basic things like raw mango, watermelon etc. there is a well also to drink water from.

If you are bored after visting alibaug beach, visit to this small fort is worth a try, during low tide you can reach here by foot, plenty if horse carriages are also available.
The fort is in ruins, but this place has beutiful temples, the boundary wall can be easily accessed on foot and present opportunity to witness beautiful sunsets.

Kulaba fort just a few minutes away from Alibagh beach is a retreat, if u want to see a fort in the middle of the sea. Around 2 kms away from the shores, the 300 year old fort built by Shivaji in all its wilderness, gives you glimpses of the time gone by.

A 10 minute ride from Alibagh beach, tongas are available from the beach to take you to the fort and back.. The charges are around 600 per person for the return trip. The simpletons from villages are in total business here, so please avoid bargaining as this is their bread and butter.

We went around 4.30 pm so didn't get much of the sun. On the way back from the fort we caught the sunset sky while on the Tonga ride which was breathtakingly beautiful.

The fort is inaccessible during high tide. So do check on the tide levels if u plan a trip here.

There is a very minimal entry fee. Timings are 10 am to 5 pm. There is no electricity inside so one must leave before sunset. You need 1-2 hours for the entire fort tour.

You can freely take a walk all around the fort. Please make sure you don't litter or scribble the place...as it was pretty disheartening to see bisleri bottles strewn around.

Whoever going to alibaugh please do visit this place. It's just 10 min away from alibaugh beach. During morning 10 to 4 you need to take boat service with minimal charges and after 4 pm as low tide is there you can go by horse riding.
Inside fort you will find historical ganesh temple, in built lake and mesmerizing view of sea from various corner of the fort.
It's really awesome experienced for me and give me goosebumps while touching every wall of fort by thinking chatrapati shivaji maharaj constructed this great fort.
