Sattal Forest Resort

Located at the top of hill with 270degree view and an awesome sunset view. Very good staff. Lots of birds can be seen from the proper.

It is a hidden gem one cannot afford to miss. One of the most amazing views of the forest and the lake one can get. Pics may not be able to do full justice to the overall feel the resort provides. One will be awestruck by the views and feel of it. I chose to stay here basis the excellent reviews people have given, very rightly so. It is built on top of the mountain surrounding the Sattal Lake. There is hardly any construction around so one gets a feeling of staying amidst a forest which is very surreal. Plenty of unique birds in the morning within the resort itself. The rooms are very well maintained. The unique feature of the property are the 2-3 rooms/multi level cottages with adjoining private open area/dining area and gardens if anyone plans to visit in groups. Staff is very hospitable and courteous. Hats off to Ushaji (property owner) for focusing on every minute detail of the resort to keep it in excellent shape. For anyone visiting Nainital/around, do not miss staying at this amazing place.

This well maintained resort is situated on hill top overlooking sattal lake., away from the normal hustle and bustle of routine hill stations.The surrounding's are Nature itself,no dust ,horns etc.
There is the facility of four wheel jeeps for getting to and back from lake,
Rooms are spacious and aesthetically decorated.
They have both facility for buffet
and alacarte in their restaurant, needless to say it is well prepared.
A place where you can relax and rejuvenate with nature and all modern amenities.

This place is at a beautiful location with great views of the Sattal lake from the room balconies. Located away from the city in a quiet spot, this resort was a great venue for our extended family’s stay. They prepare the meals as per the preferences of the guests and all the staff is super accommodating and nice. It’s a resort with a feeling of home, highly recommended!

4-5 km up hill off road to reach the resort but quiet easy..

The view is breathtaking and the staff is very friendly.

You can walk to a chocolate factory nearby(650m).

A nice place up above Sattal lake surrounded by breath taking mountains offering a grand view, one should not miss. The food and service are exceptionally good. I regret I had a very short stay there due to paucity of time. Great experience.

I recently visited the resort and it was such a breath of fresh air. I had a very comfortable stay over here. The location, food, services are just amazing. They also have service to offroad to go to sattal. Its a wonderful place for bird spotting too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a break from hectic city life.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sattal Forest Resort, located near the beautiful Sattal Lake. The resort offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains, which made for a truly picturesque experience.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Sattal Forest Resort. The accommodations were comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the resort was also very good, with a variety of tasty options to choose from.

We couple aged 81/78 stayed during 18/5/23 to 21/5/23.We enjoyed food just like home made food.All the staff were very cooperative. mrs. Usha madam treated us like family member.ambiance was excellent. we felt like we are in the sky.

Had a wonderful stay here with my son. Being nature lovers and bird watching enthusiasts, this was the perfect place for us to stay in Sattal, a place know for its beautiful mountains, flora and fauna. The food was simple and tasty, the staff was very courteous and helpful and location was one of the best in Sattal. Nestled beside the quaint village, suryagaon, the property is located away from the hustle bustle of the otherwise tourist filled Sattal. Each morning we woke up to the calls of the Himalayan bulbul and the red billed blue magpie, and watched the idyllic lake sattal from the balcony while sipping our morning coffee. Surrounded by pine trees and deodar and other native flora, SFR is a place I'd highly recommended to stay in Sattal.

Lovely place with some great views and comfortable rooms. The staff are very accommodating, service excellent and the food is like home-cooked food when the wife is in a good mood ;)

The hosts, Mrs. and Mr. Upender are also around and we received some fantastic tips on things to do and places to eat around. The property is reasonably quiet and just a 15 min walk from Sattal lake.

There are quite a few walking trails nearby and a wealth of birds if you get out early in the morning.

Expect to have incredible views, excellent service, and good food!

Wonderful location with good neat, clean and spacious rooms and balcony. Staff is very nice and helpful. You have only to ask for it. Nice place to stay for birders and trekkers. Food is good and homely service. Views are awesome. Would recommend highly and would visit again.

Awesome stay at Sattal, probably the best property available right now at Sattal. Location is awesome for nature lovers especially birders. From resort itself, you can spot magpie, blue backed jay, flycatchers, woodpeckers & pheasant if you are lucky.
Quick tip: You can go to Sattal lake via off beat trails from this resort & can spot many birds there as well. But that road is very steep & only 4x4 can travel through that. So either you walk or take 4x4 from hotel

This Resort is one of the best places to stay in Sattal. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained with amazing balcony view. Staff is very humble and the hospitality is also good. food is delicious. The owner is very polite and extremely accomodating. This place is a perfect weekend getaway. Secluded, peaceful and happy place in the lap of the mountains.

One of the best thing in Sattal is this resort- Sattal Forest Resort. The location is epic, the rooms are spacious and clean, staff is courteous and food is just mind blowing. I enjoyed early morning walks, bird watching and shorts hikes around this place. The lakes are also easily accessible. For kids it has gardens, board games and other stuff to keep them engaged. Overall this place is highly recommended.

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Nice villas with individual balconies. In the morning you see sun rising behind the hills with chirping of birds...rooms are spacious. Staff is helpful and food is delicious..only problem is a 3 km stretch of gravel you have to travel as the road is damaged..so go in a suv with sturdy tyres...rest apart the place is a gem..been twice there and looking for third time..
