This is the place which is authentically made for South Indian food only . We will enjoy the taste as well the interior of the restaurant. But what i feel is that sometime server used to stair which seems little unprofessional. So rest overall in terms of South Indian food it’s extraordinary although staff behavior is polite and friendly.

We halted here on our way to Ranikhet. The restaurant is quite old. This place is spacious and it can accommodate 50+ customers at a time. We ordered Masala Dosa, Veg Sandwiches & Filter Coffee. Dosa was crispy & had tasty potato filling. Sandwiches were very basic with cucumber and tomatoes in it. Filtered coffee was nice and frothy. The price is very reasonable here. And the service was quick. Also if you are going on a long road journey towards Kumaon, you'll definitely need washrooms. The washrooms were clean. You can surely take a halt here.

Udupiwala has been a staple for serving authentic South Indian delicacies in this region . Located right before you enter the kumaon mountain ranges near kathgodam this restaurant has all the South Indian delicacies one can imagine ! There is indeed a timeless rustic charm about this restaurant , although the interiors are not fancy but it is very practical and can cater to heavy crowds in a a very efficient manner ! I had ordered for a set dosa , the meal comprised of 3 dosas rich in batter along with vegetable korma , sambhar and the combination of tomato , mint and coconut chutneys . To gulp it down I opted for the timeless classic "Filter coffee"

Although I arrived very early , the service was prompt and very smooth .

The meal here made me almost nostalgic and took me back to my days when I was a student in Chennai !!

Fantastic experience would definitely return someday !!

Basically, I’m from Bengaluru, Karnataka. By just seeing the name as Udupi walked in during my yatra in October 2023 with lots of doubt whether the taste would be match or come near about Authentic South Indian Style.

However, It defeated the purpose by serving us the much needed proper South Indian Meals with Sambar, Rasam, Rice.

My appreciation to Mr. Madhan Singh who served the food with great smile & pleasant language when we were at the hotel.

Kudos to chef, Who made us feel at home while we are away from home of 2000+ kms.

Special thanks to owner, Management for introducing this hotel in Uttarakhand & all over North India.

Nice place, but as tourist stop here a lot it's crowded. Tried Masala Dosa and it was good. Despite the crowd the staff is well behaved. Price is reasonable despite the popularity.

Best south indian resturant at kathgodam. Idli was super spongy. If you are travelling by train to kathgodham you can take dinner or lunch here.

Loved the breakfast. It was quiet and clean. The staff was also good and polite.

A perfect place for South Indian cuisine lovers. All the dishes have that authentic South flavour. Vada sambhar, Mysore masala dosa, lemon rice etc are must try. Actually all the dishes are very tasty. The filter coffee and tea in those steel cups gives you the south vibe. MUST VISIT.

Such a nice place to have South Indian dishes at reasonable prices. I visited there and had Onion masala dosa and a plate of idli sambhar. The idlis were so yumm and sambhar was so delicious in taste. Chutneys were soo good in taste the dosa was quite big in size I mean 2 people can easily share 1 dosa to full fill their tummy needs. The staff was so humble and nice. Overall I loved this place and will love to visit again with family or friends.
