Kolleru Bird Sanctuary

Kolleru lake is located on the outskirts of the Eluru city. Route goes thru chataparru village .the entry ticket is 10 rs per person and 50 rs for Cars. parking space is available for vehicles.
This place has a tower having two floors for better view of birds. Two huts are also available for visitors. Details of the various birds is displayed on wooden boards for ready reference. One small play area is available for kids ,which has sliding stand.cemented tables are arranged around the lake area.view is best in evening time. Entry is closed at 5 pm.

The ticket of this place is very less cost. we can see a lot of birds during October to March months. A very nice atmosphere is seen here. We can see many birds that migrate like Glossy ibis, Open billed stork, Purple moorhen, Painted stork, Pied avocet, Marbled teal, Common redshank. These birds come from Siberia. You can enjoy a lot.

A very peaceful place to relax yourself from daily stress, it's just around 18km from city the roads to reach were narrow

Benches and huts available to spend some time
Watchtower available to get slight of the entire area and it's best can achieved at sunset

A very nice and peaceful place. Nice weekend destination for Eluru people. Peaceful and calm
Birds are variable and from other countries. There is a small play area for kids. We can enjoy about an hour here.
There is a watch tower for seeing the lake and birds. Sad thing is that this lake once very big is now occupied leaving only a small part as present lake. Government should take steps to clear the private fisheries and expand the lake again to its full size as before.

Nice place. If you want to do some bird photography, visit the place during winter. Kids will also love the place

It was an awesome and amazing place to watch different type of birds and there migration time.

Best time to watch October to March.

In this time lot of birds will come and hatching eggs.

But the lake is day by day occupied prawns aquarium and water is getting dirty.

Still untouched from commercialization.

Nature lovers can visit the place and the birds are awesome as we will never get chance to see so many at a time. Overall it's a very good experience.

Kolleru bird sanctuary also called aatapaka bird sanctuary. Good place to visit. 10 minutes of boat ride, small museum and mini play area. You can view more birds with only boating. Approach road is very bad. If you are travelling from vijayawada, don't take kaikaluru road, take pamarru ( via bandar road) .

Such a peace full place but boat journey is too fast
