Phones aren't allowed and the cost is around 10 INR if you're a student, otherwise it's like 20. Bring cash here, they don't accept UPI easily. You have to convince them for UPI payment.

You get a locker outside to put your stuff in there, after that you can roam around a pretty large size museum. It has ornaments, structures, statues and paintings from various eras.

A very good museum featuring antique pieces, stone sculptures from ancient India, miniature paintings, modern paintings, and collections from the Mughal period. Textiles are also a point of attraction.

One of the best places to visit if one wants to learn about Indian History. Bharat Kala Bhavan has preserved our ancient glory very well. And the staff is so organized. Lights on the paintings have been set up perfectly to observe the uniqueness of art. Must place to visit.

Time for visit: all working days from 10.30-4.30
Ticket fare:- free for BHU students, 20/- for per person, outsiders.

I am still wondering why I didn't visit this place before. As a BHU student, we should visit this museum at least once, and should tell more about it to our friends and family. For BHU students it's free, and for the outsiders, 20/- per ticket. A very well maintained museum with a lot of collections. Visit once, you will enjoy.

Bharat Kala Bhawan is a museum within Banaras Hindu University. It is free to enter for BHU students when they show their passbooks, and for outsiders there are tickets costing around Rs. 10 to 15.

You are not allowed to take anything inside the museum, so make sure you carry a bag to put your mobile phones and stuff outside. There are no lockers or storage facilities to store your stuff, so again the presence of a bag will be a good option.

Inside the museum, there is a wide variety of artifacts and paintings from different eras. There is a special section which displays the unique jewels and artefacts from the past including the Bharat Ratna Award of Malviya ji. You can spend a great deal of time reading and understanding the artefacts and paintings or can view them in one hour by skimming through them, but have at least one or two hours with you when you decide on visiting this place. It is gorgeous and full of rich heritage. I absolutely loved visiting it and enjoyed every minute spent there.

Go through the golden era of Indian civilizations and engineering marble. The museum is too wrath for the stone art lovers as well as history lovers. Paintings are amazing and not believing that it can happened in past. The one is a winged deer stone art that shows the imaging of the artist.
Really awesome and must visit. The negative thing is you cannot carry your phone or camera. Rs 20 ticket is worthy for that

Very good museum. In Jan 2023, most of the museum was closed but the miniature painting, sculpture and jewelry galleries were open. Very large and representative collection from Mathura era onwards. The miniature paintings collection was especially broad -- including one Persian piece.

They force you to check your phone in a locker before entry. Rs 250 for foreigners, even with most of the museum closed. Definitely worth a few hours to visit.

It's one the added pleasures inside the BHU Campus. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the museum.
The museum contains beautiful paintings, handmade statues and figures plus some personal belongings of the great Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Ji who is the founder of Banaras Hindu University.
