This temple was built as a recreation of the Shree Kashi Vishwanatha temple in Varanasi in the 1930s. It was ideated by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya and constructed by the Birla family. The temple has a big scrawling campus surrounded by green lawns. It's a regular hangout of students of BHU and is an important place of workshop for the people of Varanasi. There are various sweetshop, food shops, stationery shops outside the temple. There is a free shoe stand inside. No restrictions on leaving your bags and cameras behind though photography is prohibited inside the shrine. You can click pictures of the temple campus though. There is a washroom inside and ample place to sit. The temple is made of marble and is very clean and well maintained.

During my visit to Kashi visited this temple and the experience was amazing. As the temple is inside the BHU Campus so one can get the public transport easily to reach there. Inside the temple you can sit and just relax and enjoy the surroundings because the environment is very good and you will find some peace there. Also the views from the temple is good you can take some good photos there. So overall a good experience and one can visit this place if in Varanasi (or Banaras).

Very beautiful temple. One of the most well-known temples and major tourist destinations in Varanasi is the New Vishwanath Temple and Birla Temple. The Lord Shiva is the subject of the temple, which is located inside the Benaras Hindu University.
a wonderful location for tourists, children, and people of all kinds. You can come here if you'd want a tranquil setting. You can find the allure of temples here and will undoubtedly enjoy spending at least a few hours. a beautiful setting that is well-decorated and ideal for meditation. Even in India, you can visit Varanasi's largest university. If you have made the decision to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, you should also take in the beauty of the area and the trees.
