It was beautiful experience. We visited September month . A must experience in Rainey season . Very near to Mahabaleshwar main city . When I visited first time with my friends, fully fog with clouds . When I visited with my family (same month next year ) , no fog . It depends on weather in Mahabaleshwar.

Great views from Lodwick point but I would recommend walking further down to Elephant Point for the best views.
It is a 500m walk to Lodwick Point and 800m walk to Elephant Point one-way from the parking lot.

Mahabaleshwar is a small town and a municipal council in Satara district, Maharashtra, India. It is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus because the Krishna river has its origin here.
The British colonial rulers developed the town as a hill station, and served as the summer capital of Bombay Presidency during the British Raj.
In 1819, after the demise of the Maratha empire, the British ceded the hills around Mahabaleshwar to the vassal state of Satara. Colonel Lodwick (Later General Sir Lodwick) after climbing the mountains near Mahabaleshwar, recommended the place as a sanatorium for the British forces to governor Sir John Malcolm of Bombay presidency. The Raja of Satara was granted other villages in exchange for the British getting Mahabaleshwar in 1828.

a stunning view of the surrounding hills and valleys, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and photographers.
The point is named after General Lodwick, who was the first British officer to climb the hill. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk through the greenery or indulge in adventure activities like rock climbing and rappelling. Overall, Lodwick Point is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to relax and unwind amidst the natural beauty of Mahabaleshwar.

It is located about 5 km from bus stand. It is named after General Lodwick, who was the first British officer to climb the hill in 1824. His son erected a column of 25 feet in honor of his father.
It is about 500 meter walk from parking lot through forest on a smooth road. Further 200 meter ahead is Elephant Head point. It's better to go early in the morning to avoid crowd. Avoid during rains. As far as view is concerned , it's just too good from this point. A paradise for nature lovers.

Lodwick Point is very popular point in Mahabaleshwar. The road to Lodwick Point is not maintained properly and is full of potholes. The parking place for Lodwick Point is very spacious. From parking place itself one can see beautiful scene valleys and mountains. From parking place the Lodwick Point is at 500 metres and Elephant Head Point is further at a distance of 300 metres. The pathway from parking place to Lodwick Point is well maintained. The pathway is very wide (10 to 12 feet) slopping with minimal steps and is made by red lava stones. The space around Lodwick Point is spacious and surrounded by safety railings. No toilet facilities are available near points or parking. The pathway from Lodwick Point to Elephant Head Point is wide enough but natural walkway. It has safety railings. View from Elephant Point is breathtaking. While reading the plaque at Lodwick Point I accidentally touched a bee hive present on the railings and the bees attacked me. Tourist are advised to be more vigilant. Request for municipal attendants maintaining if clear such hives and clear grass around the memorial pillar.

The view from this was beautiful. We went there around 11 pm and there was not so crowd at Saturday. It is surrounded by the forest.

Here you can also click a photo with the Horse

The first point is Lodwick point and after a quarter kilometer there is an elephant head.

At Lodwick point you have to walk a lot but after the Lodwick point you have to walk not too much.

But will highly recommend to go at morning and experience the nature of it.
