I trekked this mountain in 2015 and then reached it again in 2023 with two brother riders. But this time I did not trek anymore. Now there are many food hotels here. Below the hill, there is a beautiful bathing arrangement of the water coming out of the hill. Very nice environment. Just love it.

The hill is very steeped from the front side. And we started climbing up from there. We went with my friends. While climbing up with in 20 minutes we all felt very very tired. My heart beat got increased and I didn't want to continue anymore, but my friends encouraged me to push more. I would suggest everyone to must carry water. when you reach the top of the mountain, your energy and sweet is worth spending when you see the view.. the view is awesome... You could see houses from far villeges and cars running through roads while enjoying the chill wind at the top.

You can explore the unspoiled beauty of Nature and relive ancient moments in Susunia Hill. The hill is believed to be more ancient than Lord Himalayas. According to history, Raja Chandravarman had his fort on this hill. The hill is carrying great archeological value as well as is the home to many ancient fossils like Giraffe, Asiatic Lion, Hyena and many more animal species. Let yourself be free among the crowd of ‘Shal-Palash’ and walk through the soft green light while climbing up the slopes of the hill. Susunia hill is also a great reserve of various types of medicinal plants. Spend your leisure days in the breathtaking beauty of nature embracing the vast canopy of flora. Embark your journey as a mountaineer from the rock climbing center of Susunia hill.

Great spot to hang out with friends and picnic with family. These hills are one of the best tourist destination in Bankura District only 30kms away from Bankura town. Nearest Railway station is Chhatna which is 10km away from Susunia. They've recently opened a children's park. Apart from sight seeing don't forget to buy some stone art soveneir made by local artists for your friends and family

Very good place....

Susunia is a hill (1,200 ft). It is a place of archaeological interest and a rock climbing centre.

It is believed that there earlier was a fort built by King Chandravarman. Some 4th century inscriptions are there, referring to a place called Pushkarana, once the capital of King Chandravarman. Modern-day Pakhanna, a village in Bankura district, is considered to be ancient Pushkarana. Some animal fossils were discovered at Susunia.

There is an ancient carved monolith (Narasingha stone) standing at the point where the spring water is coming out of another curved stone projected spout.

It is a picnic spot for people residing in the surrounding areas.

It is a very nice and popular hill in Bankura district of West Bengal. There is a natural spring at the base of the hill and there is also a small temple there which is very famous around here. Although the hill looks a bit small from the base it is not so easy to climb it upto the top point. Actually there are three peaks and the front peak is the lowest among them. Tourists climb this peak only. There are many shops at the base where excellent stone cutting artists are cutting stones and making very fine statues. They all are local people and their art is excellent.

Don't go through the official path of riding the hill... It will be boring...

Try some sideways ✨ & enjoy the adventure
(If you are physically fit )
Best for local tourism.
