Sammilani college is one of the oldest college in bankura. It's environment is very good.and i am the student of bankura sammilani college(zoology department).here, teachers are good.They are always on the side of the students.

A very good College. Faculty and staff are very nice and helpful. Campus is small but beautiful and nicely decorated.

Bankura Sammilani College is established to promote the higher education in Bankura and its neighbour districts by Bankura Sammilani Registered Society. With an aim to provide a platform for higher education to the financially weaker peoples of Bankura it started its journey on 1 September 1948 with 100 students (boys) and 6 teachers of intermediate science. Initially it was only for boys but its status changed to co-education from the session 1992–1993. From its inception it was a trust college and became govt-aided college on 22 April 1977.

Affiliation and accreditation

The college was initially under the affiliation of calcutta university from 6 August 1948. It comes under the affiliation of Burdwan University in 1960. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Campus is not so big, but neat and clean. Many building are newly constructed and renovation work is under progress.Teachers are very student friendly. Facilities like Auditorium(A/C), Canteen, Computer lab, Library, Gym etc are also available for students. Many cultural programs also organized throughout the year. In a nutshell, it is a college with rich culture, good facilities, eminent faculties and great results and best ambience for studying.

In the initial days it runs in three shifts. B.Com(introduced in 1959) in evening shift, B.A (introduced in 1970) in morning and BSc(introduced in 1959) in day shift. Currently the college runs in two shifts.B.Com courses are being taught in morning shift and all B.A and BSc courses are in day shift.
Currently 16 different honours courses in Arts, Science and Commerce are being taught in the college.
The college has taken some initiative for students benefit. The college provides opportunity for Spoken English classes with the help of BBC Bankura Branch. It has Computer Literacy Program with Webel Informatics Limited from 1996. The college also provides opportunities to pursue different courses with the help of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India from March 2009

Being a ex-student of this college , I can say that this is one of the best colleges in Bankura district.

Bankura Sammilani College offers UG courses (B.A/B.Sc/B.Com)from Arts , Science and Commerce stream.
Recenty it is offering PG Courses in Chemistry and English under Bankura University.
The teachers are very helpful.
Chemistry lab , Physics lab & Computer lab are well-furnished.
Lab assistants are very helpful.
There is a library situated at first floor of the building ; various types of books of different subjects are available here.
There is also a canteen in college campus.
Tiffin as well as meals are available here and the food is very much hygienic.
A cycle/bike stand is situated beside the college.It is the first National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited college in Bankura District with B+.
Dr.Samir Kumar Mukherjee (Botany) is current principal and he co-operates with each problem of the students.
From all aspects, the college is great.

Very cordial student-teacher relationship. Good college. Good academic record. Plethora of subjects offered. Excellent laboratory & library facility. Only a little more space inside the campus would make things better.

The college maybe small but it has a big place in our heart. This college was established along with Bankura Sammilani Medical College. But wile Medical College is district famous, college is not so much popular. The students and teachers should be more responsible to bring back the fame of this college. Indeed this is a college which produces many brilliant students and employes yet it's success is not upto the best level. College admistrative department faces little bit problem because of its small boundary and lack of attached playground as well as scattered hostels. But it has to be adjusted with problems, because there is no other way to get rid of it. Some departments are in lack of good efficient professional teachers. College authority should keep it in mind so that it can be cured quickly.
Day by day the college is becoming more beautiful, more perfect, more charming, more successive. Our target should be always high, always positive, always unique. Be better and leave a mark of your footstep in the ground of its reputation.

One of the Best colleges in Bankura Town with Arts Commerce and Science Streams for Bachelor's degree. One of the oldest and prestigious most colleges in Bankura Town too!

This college provides B.sc Hons course in Nutrition and Microbiology.Besides it has a laboratory for research in chemistry. One can reach to that point by toto or auto rikshaw from Bankura jn and bus stand easily.

The college is small but it is the heart of student. Beautiful college with sincere professor and nice environment .This college was eastablished along with Bankura Sammilani Medical College.
