This is a temple of Vishalakshi Devi (Annapoorneshwari) but generally known as Bhagavathy temple.
The temple has very powerful vibrations. It's very spacious with a nice architecture. You will see roosters all around and they are fed and protected here. It is one unique aspect of this temple. Inside the vigrahas of Mahavishnu and Bhagavathy are most revered. There is a Shivalinga and Sarpa kavvu also as part of the temple premises.
The temple pond completes the authentic feel of how temples of yore were planned, built and maintained.

Beautiful temple. The temple has Lord Vishnu, Bhagvathy, Lord Mahadeva's deities. We could see a lot of Hens/Roosters in the temple. Devotees do Rooster/Hen offering to Devi. Great cause of saving lives of these birds. Hens/Cocks are found inside the temple, steps of the Garbhagudi/NaDai as well. Neivedyam is given to these Roosters as well. Marriages are conducted in this temple.

Famous hindu temple in Pazhayannur. Hens/Roosters are donated here for feeding and you can see lot of them wandering the premises. Very much accessible from roads and traffic. Wide area of frontage and parking is limited inside.

The temple is beautiful and is the charm of Pazhayannur town. It is dedicated to devi Parvathi and lord vishnu. The temple premise is huge and welcoming with stretch of sand from the main road to the temple entrance. One can find many hen and roosters around the temple. It is a normal practise to feed the birds with grains of rice. Niramalai is a famous festival in the temple and it is celebrated with Panchavadiyum and Elephant procession.

Pazhayannur Bhagavathy Temple is a differnet temple in the sense lot of cocks are moving around..wall paintings attached are nice.

This is a unique temple. You will see many roosters around the temple. They are offered by the devotees. There is also a Shiva temple on the side of the main Bhagavathy temple. It is worth visiting when ever you are around this area.

Ancient temple, and it has its own charm. It has the speciality of roosters wandering around the temple and it's offered by devotees.
Some traditional stories are there how roosters saved the King from foreign forces.
The ancient building near the temple, where the parking lot is there, is not maintained and it's in ruins,

Pazhayannur – a small town located in Thrissur district & Chelakkara region of Kerala – is a place where religions dwell in harmony with each other. Earlier, a large part of this town was under the Brahmans who had come from Tanjavur (Tamilnadu).

"Tanjavur is an important center of South Indian religion, art, and architecture."

Pazhayannur Bhagavathy Temple is believed to be more than 500 years old. In those times this temple – known as Pallipurath Mahavishnu – was dedicated to Lord Vishnu.Worship of Divine Mother in the form of Bhagvathy started after She chose this place as Her abode. The erstwhile king of Kochi was a deep devotee of Divine Mother. Once he went to Kashi (Varanasi) to offer his prayers to Ma & receive Her blessings & asked Her to come to Kochi along with him. Ma agreed & reached Pazhayannur. They say that the unusual & unique topography, natural beauty, vegetation & dwellers of this place left a deep in Mother’s heart & she sat near the actual Vishnu temple called Pallipurath Mahavishnu. She then moved toward a Banyan tree near the main entrance that still exists & this spot is called “Sreemoola Sthanam” and then she appeared at the Thidapally (a part of the temple where the Naivedyam — food offered to the Divine — is prepared). That day onward She was perceived as the Gaurdian Goddess of the Kingdom of Kochi. Ma entered this temple in Seventeenth Century & there are synopses to support this. The king of Kochi helped a great deal to develop this temple. And then it was named the Pazhayannur Bhagavathy Temple as it is called now. Both Divine Mother & Lord Vishnu are equally worshiped here in this temple. The premise has a Shiva temple too.

Unique temple that is full of roosters roaming around. People give live roosters as offerings and these dwell in the temple and are fed by worshippers.
The temple is said to be more than 500 years old. The primary shrine has Vishnu as the residing deity, but Bhagavathy is the presiding deity.
There's also a shrine to Shiva in the form of a Linga.

The family deity of the Cochin Royal family was consecrated in this temple....the Bhagvathy....now known by its location...Pazhayanur Bhagvathy, Maha Vishnu and Lord Shiva are worshipped here.
The unique and quaint custom of bringing roosters and setting them free here is still followed as an offering. Legends talk of the Bhagvathy taking form of thousands of roosters defending the temple from marauders.......
Sakthan Thampuran the ruler who is credited to the building of Thrissur is said to have been a fervent devotee and would start his day only after receiving the prasad from the temple which would be delivered by horsemen....
