Once used by Pandavas for shelther, later converted to a Karthikeya temple by kings, a set of caves with beautiful stone tablets and intricately carved idols near Panchgani. What to expect here;
- Ladies not allowed inside caves/temple and can watch from a distance if the temple Pujari is fine.
- The approach road is very narrow and offroad. We need to walk down staircases to reach the caves.
- There are four caves. The first cave has a kund. There are carved stone tablets in the other caves.
- Caves are surrounded by greenery and forest.

The caves are natural habitats since humans evolve. So obviously this one no doubt. Had a visit here to experience the marvel. Cool atmosphere inside and feels close to the mother nature. A must place to visit.

Rajpuri Caves are a historical and religious site located in the Mahabaleshwar taluka of the Satara district in Maharashtra, India. These caves are steeped in significance and provide a unique blend of natural beauty and spirituality.

The caves consist of three main sections, each with its distinct characteristics. The principal cave is dedicated to Lord Karthikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, and it houses a small but beautifully carved shrine with an idol of the deity. The cave is adorned with intricate carvings, and pilgrims and tourists often come here to offer prayers and seek blessings.

The second section is the "Nagoba Temple," dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of a snake. The snake, or "nag," holds religious importance in Hindu mythology, and this temple is a place of worship for devotees of Lord Shiva.

The third section is a natural wonder – a holy kund (water tank) known as "Gomukh." The water in this kund is considered sacred, and it is believed that taking a dip here cleanses one of sins.

Rajpuri Caves offer a unique combination of spirituality and natural beauty, making it a significant pilgrimage site and a serene spot for nature enthusiasts. The lush green surroundings and the historical elements make it an intriguing destination for anyone visiting the Mahabaleshwar region.

Sure, I'd be happy to describe Rajpuri Caves in Mahabaleshwar for you! Rajpuri Caves is a fascinating historical and religious site located in the town of Panchgani, near Mahabaleshwar.

These ancient caves hold great significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is believed that the Pandavas from the Hindu epic Mahabharata spent some time in these caves during their exile. The caves are also associated with Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, and are considered a sacred pilgrimage site.

As you explore the Rajpuri Caves, you'll be amazed by their natural beauty and architectural marvel. The caves are carved out of a single rock formation and consist of several chambers and passageways. The intricate carvings and sculptures on the cave walls depict various mythological stories and deities.
