Embarking on a recent trip to Vasota Fort, I was greeted with an enchanting boating experience that added a magical touch to my adventure. The journey from the base to the proximity of Vasota Fort was not just a means of transportation but a captivating chapter in the exploration of nature's wonders.Boating Expedition: The boating adventure commenced at the base, where I found myself eager and ready for the scenic escapade ahead. The boats, well-maintained and safe, instilled confidence as we set sail on the tranquil backwaters. The gentle rocking of the boat immediately immersed me in the serenity of the surroundings.
Scenic Marvels: As we navigated the calm waters, the landscape unfolded like a canvas painted with hues of green and blue. Lush forests flanked the shores, creating a peaceful and idyllic backdrop. The journey itself became an experience of visual delight, with each passing moment revealing the raw beauty of the natural world.
Boat Ride Delights: The boat ride was not just a means of transportation; it was a delightful experience in itself. The rhythmic sound of oars meeting water, the gentle breeze caressing my face, and the occasional bird songs in the distance created a symphony of nature that accompanied us throughout the voyage.

Vasota Trek best exploring time after October till monsoon start.
You can night stay at bamnoli or munawale campaign. Where stay costing is around same but from bamnoli boating cost is 4000/- around for atleast 12 and 3000/- from munawale for 12 peoples includes guide. Extra costing for forest persmission is calculated during boat costing. (Costing may vary season to season)

Should carry own food on vasota fort there is no option of snacks centre like some other forts.

Overall travelling experience is very awesome boating, jungle trek.

Most important thing Wednesday the trek is closed as per local peoples said.

I loved the entire experience. I went with the TIB community and it was the best decision. You must do this trek. The place is similar to Phi phi islands in Thailand.

It was a nice trekking experience, almost up and down 4 hours trekking through jungle. We have to carry some food and at least 2l water. Going with a group is better.

Trek is really very good and mesmerising experience. You can also do camping for one night there.Fort is on the other side of lake so to reach fort you will have take a boat. Charges of boat are ₹3000 which takes around 12 people. Shared boats are also available if you are less in number.(Advice: Go on weekend if you are less in number like 3-4 because on weekdays very few people are there so chances of getting shared boat is less). Also there are multiple boat services available and if you want boats at cheap rate choose the one which is close to fort.If you want do camping charges are around ₹1100 per person. It includes every thing starting from your stay to taking you to the fort and also your lunch the day you visit and breakfast of the next day.And in my opinion you should go for camping because the charges for one day trek and camping will come more or less the same.
Also extra ₹700 will be incurred by forest department when you reach the foothills of the fort(Reason: Forest is the tiger reserve protected and managed by Government of India). This total ₹3000+₹700 will be divided equally among all the people present in the boat.Guide is also included in this money. Also remember there is no range for Jio,Airtel etc and also they don’t accept online payment so make sure to carry hefty cash with you. Also call them once before visiting because fort is closed every wednesday. Also remember fort is completely closed during rainy reason that is between mid-Jun to mid-Oct. Also when fort is open you can trek between morning 9 to evening 5 also it is mandatory to start trek before 11 o’clock. After that you can’t start trek because whole trek takes around 6 hours to complete. So remember to come early in morning or one day before.

Remember all this point before visiting. And enjoy your trek and make memories for lifetime.😊😊

Vasota Fort near Satara offers captivating trekking experience with its scenic beauty and historical significance. The trek presents a moderate challenge, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The lush greenery, especially during the monsoon, adds to the charm. The breathtaking view of the Koyna backwaters from the fort is a highlight. Ensure you carry sufficient water and snacks, as facilities may be limited. Overall, Vasota Fort is a rewarding trek for nature enthusiasts and history lovers alike.

Great place 😃

Here's the next review after a gap again. 😬 Let me elaborate this one. 😃 After a long time i decided to have a trek. 🧗🏻 The location was something i desired 😌 to visit overlong time. ⏳ Most of the peeps know about this place " Vasota Fort " , 🏞 It is a jungle trek 🧗🏻 basically. I visited this place 📍along with my office friends. 🏢👫 We started this trek from Pune 😎 around 4 am in the morning 🌄 and we were travelling on bikes. 🚴🏻 I dont remember the exact journey duration but it took us around half an hour to reach the starting point of actual trek 🧗🏻‍♀ by boat. ⛵ I liked one thing in this trek 🧗🏻 they check the plastic items or bottles, etc. 🍶 which your carrying along with you & you have to pay some amount 💰 for the same which is refunded if you bring the exact things back. 😅 The entire trek 🧗🏻 is through the jungle 🌳 which is astonishing. 🤩 We even had the lunch 🍱 under a tree 🌳 which was something that reminded 🤔 me of the good old picnic 🧺 days. After the long trek 🧗🏻‍♀ the view from the top ⛰ is mesmerizing and breathtaking. 😍 If you want some thrilled trekking 🧗🏻 and boating 🚣🏻 experience this is the place📍 for it. And i guarantee that if you're a fond trek 🧗🏻person you would definitely love 🫶 this one. 😄

Amazing place to trek and camp. We reached the place in the evening and got a place for camping near the Bamnoli lake. There will be mosquitoes so be sure to carry odomos and you can also ask the local guide who provides the stay facility to provide campfire.

Next day morning, there's a boat that will take you to the base of the Vasota fort. The water is nice and clear with the reflection of the sky making it even more mesmerizing.

The trek is relatively easy and not much steep so it is good for beginners. At the base, you have to give the forest officials the count of the no. of plastic things you are carrying and they will ask you to deposit money for it and after coming back they will take a count and return back your money. I found this really good as it will prevent people from littering on the top.

It is always good to carry 2 litres of water and good amount of snacks as there is nothing around on the top of the mountain,

Even at a decent enough pace it will take you 2 hours to reach on top and about 90 mins to descend.

The stairway in the start is beautiful as it is covered with good amount of greenery and makes for a picturesque moment. Overall, a lovely place to go once with friends.

Amazing experience camping and trekking
We reached bamboli in the evening went to opposite side for camping it's little isolated and good compared to other crowded places in Bamboli
The camping was fun, campfire and experience in the boat at night was nice
Next day early morning we had our breakfast took lunch and water with us and headed towards vasota fort. Do carry food and water cause u don't get it on fort.
From bamnoli it's around 1.30hr boat ride to vasota fort entry point. Need to register and pay entry fees after checking the bags we started trekking
The trek is moderate level of difficult and you can enjoy as it's jungle trek and amazing views in-between and on the it's heaven
We can see all sahyadri mountains surrounded by fort
Now the fort has only few walls remaining but u can visit temple, babu kada and around places
It took us almost 2 hrs to reach to the top and 1.30hrs to come down. fort closes around 4 pm. We need to start the return journey accordingly
The same boat takes u to the camping location, we had snacks and started journey back to home

Fort trekking difficulty level is easy to moderate. But it's lengthy..
And most important, plastics you carry are counted before you start the training. You are strictly not allowed to throw plastic bags, wrappers or bottles on the way as well as on the fort.

Great Experience. Awesome views from top. We stayed in Bamnoli , Matoshri Camp. They provided excellent service, tents were good. In morning we had tea and breakfast. Then we headed for boating at 8 am, almost 1.5-2 hrs of boating to reach to jungle. We started our trek at 10 am and reached at top at around 12 pm. So 2 hrs of trek but great experience. Keep atleast 2/3 water bottles with you. Whole Place is very clean and don't throw any plastic as you need to show once you reach back to base. If any plastic missing then you will get fined.
