Kaas lake- Kumudini Talav

Went there in late September this year. It's was raining and the plateau was just beginning to fill up with flowers. It's been recommended to come by early October. Our trip was a good one. The maintenance of the plateau is really well done. Beautiful to see the flowers and the lake, the waterfall nearby. Call of the birds was also lovely. We stayed at Nature plateau right before The Kaas entry- pretty affordable and neat place to stay in. Go there with rain readiness- raincoat, caps, appropriate shoes etc. It gets cold at times - some light winter wear is also good.

City is such a cool place to visit! It's known for its stunning mountain views and outdoor activities. Plus, there are plenty of breweries where you can try beers from around the world. Let me know if you want any specific recommendations! 😄🍻

Best time to visit August September....

Kaal lake or kumudini talaav, is a small lake inside Kaas flower plateau. Kaas is about 20 kms from Satara.

The lake is full of kumudini flowers.
Nature lovers would enjoy the beauty.
A must must place to visit now.
I visited on 29th of September.

Try completing visiting before 2 pm.
Many flowers bloom in the morning and by afternoon they start closing.

Kumudini talaav or lake is a small lake inside Kaas flower plateau. Name of lake is due to the type of lotus which is grow is call kumudini lotus so it name as Kumudini talaav or lake. Source of water of kumudini talav or lake is only monsoon rain. Due to the full of Kumudini lotus It’s gives a so beautiful scenic view.
Due to this lake is inside the protected area you need to have ticket to entry inside.

I absolutely loved this place. The lake is very beautiful, scenic and if it's less crowded you can actually lie on the floor for some time . The little lotus like flowers look so beautiful with the green and blue background of lake (blue sky reflection on water) . Have a look at the photos. These were taken on a very hot sunny day. I'm sure, this place will look even more beautiful on a warm sunny day.

It is worth the long walk. Pretty and serene, there is place to sit and relax.

Have visited this thrice now and every time it's a different experience...the season has just started and flowers have started to bloom...the climate was amazing...the water was cool.. things are more systematic now..you park your car at a new parking lot...from there they have arranged TT to go to the site for 10/- per person for one side..rest I leave it up to you to experience when at the site.

After the long walk from kaas pathar drop point this is a welcome sight. It's a good place for photoshoot. Kids enjoy a lot. On the way locals sell cucumbers, pithla-bhakri, buttermilk and lemonades. The right time to visit is early morning in the month of September.

Beautiful place on Kas Pathar. Flowers are like mini lotus and they are beautiful. It’s a sight where you can sit for whole day. Advise is to reach in morning during full bloom period as I was told that flowers in Kumudini Talav are best viewed during that time and they close their petals in after noon. I’ve not verified the fact as I was there in morning.

Amezing Natural place and it is best time visit between September to November month only.

This world heritage site is a must visit place at list once in your life time. It's heaven on the earth.
My advice to plan your visit at end of September or early November. This is the time when you see fully grown flowers. And good sunlight to photograph.
Plan your visit early morning and if possible not on Holliday or Weekends, Since large crowd on holiday and small roads u may stuck in heavy traffic. Booking available online, Book your tickets prior to your visit.
Around 200 types of flowers observed. 60 types of flowers that only grew on Kas and nowhere in the world.

We went a little offbeat in a restricted area and trust me it’s worth it.
