Chembra Peak trek in Wayanad is a must-do! The trail takes you through lush forests, leading to the iconic heart-shaped Chembra Lake. The panoramic views from the summit are breathtaking, with misty valleys and tea plantations stretching as far as the eye can see. It's a 3-4 hour trek suitable for all levels of hikers, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water and snacks. Remember to trek responsibly, leaving no trace behind.

Chembra Peak offers a memorable adventure in the Western Ghats, and I highly recommend it to nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Don't forget your camera to capture the beauty of this incredible destination.

An easy to a moderate trek takes you to the peak which offers amazing views and a beautiful heart shaped pond. Only up to 200 members are allowed per day which helps the management to keep the place tidy and free of trash. If you’re carrying any plastic bottles with you, you’ll have to get it registered at the ticket counter(₹50/bottle) which is refundable. So make sure to collect the refundable deposit by submitting the empty bottles at the counter after getting down from the peak.

Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats mountain range in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located near the town of Meppady in the Wayanad district. Chembra Peak stands at an elevation of about 2,100 meters (6,890 feet) above sea level, making it a popular trekking destination and a favorite among nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

The main attraction of Chembra Peak is the heart-shaped lake, known as “Hridaya Saras” (Saraswati Lake), situated near the top. It is believed to have never dried up and is said to have therapeutic and medicinal properties. However, trekking to the peak requires permission from the Meppady Forest Range Office.

Trekking to Chembra Peak usually takes around 3-4 hours, depending on the fitness level of the trekkers. The route offers breathtaking views of lush green landscapes, mist-covered valleys, and the surrounding mountains. It is essential to be cautious and follow safety guidelines while trekking to ensure a memorable and safe experie

Chembra Peak is a paradise for trekkers, presenting a thrilling challenge coupled with mesmerizing natural beauty. The trek to the peak takes you through dense forests, lush green meadows, and winding trails, offering a delightful blend of adventure and serenity. One of the highlights of the Chembra Peak trek is the heart-shaped lake, also known as Hridaya Saras, nestled near the summit. This pristine lake, perched at an altitude of approximately 6,000 feet, adds an ethereal touch to the entire trekking experience.

Not an easy trek, moderate trek. Timings are strict starts morning 7.0 am, ends by 1.0 pm
Only limited number of people allowed per day, 200 people max. Tickets starts at 6.0 am morning, First come first serve basis, plastic bottles you have to pay deposit of 50 rupees each, to take plastic bottles with you, they will paste sticker on it and you have to return after completion of trek which is so good, this is reason no plastic found on hill. Hill view is amazing, worth the trek once you reach top. Lake is cool. Good thing is gaurds are there at specific checkposts while trekking, rules are strict that you will explore only the path not the other areas of hill. Overall experience is very good. Small kids, Above 50 years age it's very difficult to trek. If you come in groups it will be nice, amount is for 10 people it's 1770 rupees.

Located close to Meppady and just 8 km south of Kalpetta, stands the highest peak of the Wayanad Hill Range- the Chembra Peak at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The Chembra peak offers a panoramic view of not only the entire Wayanad district but also a large chunk of Kozhikode, Malappuram and Niligiri districts. The peak, its surrounding lush greenery and the famed heart-shaped lake make it a paradise for travellers to explore

It is a beautiful place. But we were not aware of the entry restricted to 200 people for the trek to the heart shaped lake, so were a bit disappointed. But seems worth a visit.

Only 200 tickets per day is available.the best walk I've ever had . It's steep , it's slippery & it's beautiful . Start the trekking early in the morning so that you will see the heart lake in snow .
One of the awesome place I ever visited in my life with My family and friends. Good time to visit is September or when less raining. I visited last year September-2017.
Do not take your own vehicle to reach End point. Once you reach starting point more safe to take local Jeep which is taking you to End point because that Road is only made for this kind of jeeps. If you take your own vehicle for sure you will return from half way. This wt I personally witnessed many of vehicles got damaged due to Road condition. Plastic Water bottles not allowed in this area better make alternative arrangements. Morning By 7Am is best time to Enjoy the nature beauty.
Good place to visit for active people, the climb up is quite steep in places and is slippy, at least when we went, so grippy footwear is recommended. We arrived about 8am and the ticket buying is a bit of a faff, we hired jeeps from the local town to take us up as the road is pretty poor. The walk starts nice and easy with a stroll along a path above a huge tea plantation. As we went early it was nice and cool. The start is deceptive as once you have traversed to the first corner the path climbs quickly up and out of the trees. The guideline of 1.5 hours is about right dependent on fitness as the path climbs about 400m vertical. It was cloudy when we visited but the lifted sufficiently to see the peaks above us and get a good sense of the drop over the edge. It was a good day out.

Nice place, little bit difficult for trekking. But you will enjoy a lot.nice view from peak. I have gone in September, weather is awesome. For trekking you have to pay 700 rupees. If you are in a 20 people group also the price is same. It means if you are alone you have to pay 700 or if you are in a group ,at that time your group have to pay 700(max 20 people). So better is group. Price is not the matter, Definitely you will enjoy a lot.

Really very nice Place to visit,...Chembra has managed to maintain its pristine nature over the years, and many exotic species of rare flora and fauna can be seen here. It is a prime spot for trekking and guided tours are available and necessary to make the climb.

An unexpected adventure landed me and my friends at the Chembra trekking point. Woukd advice to start early at 6am, as the VSS allows only 200 people per day for the trek. The hike is about 5kms, and moderate difficulty. Advisable to carry enough water (2litres per person) and good shoes as the trek is steep.
