Naturally formed Shiv Linga in a far-off cave in Mawsynram. The place is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. There was no one else there when we visited. There is ticket for entering the caves. Water is dripping from the top just at the entrance of the cave. Loved the overall vibe here!

It is very beautiful and nature has its beauty inside the cave. The most important point is it's very calm and quiet with less visitors when we reach there.

Set in the mid of natural surroundings, this cave located near Mawsynram is a popular tourist destination.
This cave is well-known for the Shiv Ling type rock formation which is found inside the cave.

A natural cave, not very deep although. The place is recently beautified and stairs are made to easily descend. Worth visiting once.

If you have true vision, you can see Shivling, Snakes and Nandi formation also. For others, it is a beautiful and peaceful cave with least crowd.

A beautiful natural holy place for the Hindus. The SHIV LING with a natural system of water dripping on it, is the most beautiful blessing to worship and cherish. However, the government of Meghalaya should initiate some steps to enhance the area for a better visit. Other than that, it's no less than any 'Jyotirling' for us. Loved it!!

It's a natural made shivling place with natural water dripping on the shiv ling, also there is Nandi . It's all natural in the cave, there is also story of this place. Also u'll hear water stream moment, but even u'll try as much as possible, u won't able to find that stream. It's such a beautiful place.

It's unique and rare of its kind which it's not man-made but nature itself shaped it naturally into a form similar of Shivalinga... which is made of stalagmite. Recently, the cave was witnessing hordes of tourists and Hindu pilgrims across the country as pilgrims are paying their obeisance to Lord Shiva as part of the Kanwar Yatra or Bol Bam Yatra celebration but last year and this year due to Pandemic Covid-19 pilgrimage was cancelled...

Mawjymbuin cave which is made of calcareous sandstones is 209 metre high and never fails to astonish the tourists. The serenity and picturesque backdrop of Mawsynram village with steep and sliding slopes ,rolling green mountains and ear-piercing but elegant waterfalls add glory to the place. Years of weathering ,dripping of mineral enriched liquid and deposition of Calcium Carbonate has given rise to many magnificent stalagmites inside the cave. The 4m high, 50 metre wide entrance chamber is awe-inspiring.
The presence of unique stalagmites makes it a thing of interest for geologists, who conduct numerous researches here. The impressive pair of cave formations and the giant stalagmite inside the cave, which is in the form of Shiv Linga has turned this cave into a sacred shrine for Hindus. This attracts flocks of devotees nationwide. The cave also has a dome shaped rock with a flat top called the Symper Rock. It is also a faultless place for those who has a passion for photography.
A small stream flows under the eastern portion of this cave .Many rift entrances and passages form a part of this cave, some of which are difficult to enter. So the caves has in it for the adventure seekers as well. The flooding of tourists, pilgrims and historians has made this cave the major tourist attraction in Meghalaya. It is a 'A complete package' for any traveller! #letsguide

It has a Shiv ling inside. Could have attracted more tourists, if portrayed as a Shiv Temple rather than just a cave which is damaged (just a feeling).

Not able to understand why it is specifically mentioned not to pour milk. Also struggling to comprehend who will bring a fork 🍴to a cave!!!!!!

Excellent place for visiting from Shillong. You can see a natural Shiva lingua of stalagmite and naturally water is dripping on it from the top. It looks very auspicious. Pity full part is non can offer a flower on it.

A wonderful place with a artistic scenery far awy from the huzzel and buzzel of the town this cave exists where one would get the essence of how artistic and beautiful nature can be. There is a Shivling like structure just at the mouth of the cave which is around 6 feet long and that's why it is also called shivling cave.Local people say that preciously there was no shivling like structure but with passing time this structure has developed and it's very similar to that of a shivling and if you look closely you would see water dripping from the top of the cave roof on the head of the shivling..Thus seeing such a beautiful scene of nature you are bound to get mesmerized.

As my subject is Geography and I studied about limestone caves in text book, it was a superb experience for me to see the cave and identify the geomorphological features.
