Mawryngkhang Trek is one of the toughest and scariest treks of Meghalaya. The whole trek is full of bamboo bridges which are mostly tied using cane ropes and nails at some places. It is build by the village people itself. It takes 2-3 hrs to complete the trek one way. The trek includes passing through multiple ponds and streams also. One can take a dip while coming back (Rented shorts and towels are available). The end point is Mawryngkhang rock which is known as king of rocks and looks quite marvelous. There is a legend behind it. Do read about it. Overall, this is definitely the most unique trek I have ever done.

The Mawrynkhang trek in Meghalaya is one of the scariest treks in the state wherein one is required to trek over the bamboo broom sticks that are tied together with cane ropes. The bamboo bridges hangs over the broomstick in the Wakhen village lying in the Pynursela Tehsil of East Khasi hills. This is where it all begins. Passing through natural pools and deep gorges, one arrives at the point from where the trek starts the climb.

Did a day trip there from sylhet,Bangladesh. And probably the beat trekking & day trip experience i have till now. Took a taxi 3000RS from Dawki border and reached to Wakhen village. Trek took about 2 hours to reach the summit point named 'The Kinf of stones' and another 2 hours to return to the village. Villagers take 100rupee as entry fee and the view + experience was too much good. It can be scariest to most the people but the views are worth to take.

Embark on one of Meghalaya's most thrilling treks, an adventure that promises an adrenaline rush and breathtaking scenery. The bamboo trek stands out as an exhilarating experience, with roughly 50% of the trail comprised of intricate bamboo bridges. Delve into the heart of this captivating journey, encountering two natural pools along the way where you can indulge in a unique natural fish spa. The trek spans approximately 4 hours round trip, leading to a final point that may lack panoramic views but offers an intriguing peak experience.

Worry not about carrying provisions, as there are conveniently located shops en route where you can procure essentials. The entrance fee is a modest 100 rupees, granting you access to this enthralling trek. If you decide to take a refreshing dip in the pools, additional charges apply, ensuring a memorable and rejuvenating adventure in this awe-inspiring locale.

A Journey Through Enchanting Forests and Serene Landscapes.Mawryngkhang Trek is an adventure that promises to captivate your senses and leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. This moderate-level trek, also known as the Bamboo Trail, offers a breathtaking escape into the heart of nature's embrace.

Please carry extra water and it's better if you have group of people, bcz road is verry narrow and empty.Try to leave the trek before sunset.
It was really an amazing trek..
The road to trek is really awesome.

This is called the scariest trek of Meghalaya as there are certain points where there are no rocks on either side.
Nonetheless, it's worth going through the rocks, bamboo bridges and natural wooden stairs to reach the very top!
Not a very difficult trek I'd say, but definitely adventurous.

One of the must visit treks in Meghalaya. For me this was the best experience of Meghalaya Trip. The route is breath taking. One will slowly descend to the stream of crystal clear water and then gradually assend to the heights of Panaromic view. The bridge made with Bamboo at the top adds the fun and quite adrenaline rushing too if u look down. To be honest, few friends seem tired after doing a 3 hrs trek One way. But they were happy after cliff diving into the crystal clear pools on the way back. I recommend this trek to everyone and it's a must visit.

Beautiful Trek through the lush green forests and blue river flowing parallel to the bamboo pathways. The bamboo bridges are very robust and one needn't worry about its durability. It's an experience I would highly recommend

I was seemingly a wonderful experience. The natural beauty was awesome. The tracks are ok and little risky specially the bamboo trails. First times should start early.

Fantastic place. Good trek. Natural beauty. There is a small parking spot for vehicles. There is a ticket to enter the trekking. For adults it will be ₹100, for children ₹50. If you are going for a school trip, wear uniforms so that the ticket is ₹30. The trekking is not that hard. Anyone can complete the trekking. For a beginner it will only take less than 2 hours. If you are an expert 45 min. to 1 hour. Bring water and refreshments. There are some small shops in between the trekking where you can buy water, cool drinks and chips. Some parts of the trekking will be scary for people who are afraid of heights. But you can manage. No need to worry. There is a natural swimming pool where you can swim properly for a cool refreshment. The water is crystal clear. Please don't throw waste around. There are enough waste baskets on the way. The villagers are maintaining the place very well. Please respect that.

It's one of those nice places in Meghalaya to go for that provides adrenaline. The trek is fun but with lots of ups and downs, bamboo bridges and good views. You have to trek for around 2-3 hours, and it will quite humid and warm. One shop was there on the way to the final location. This is a trek so plan ahead and have some mild breakfast and arrange some snacks and water for the trek.. You can enjoy your time in the river , but be aware during monsoon season, the current is quite strong. The natural swimming pool was closed for some reason, so we just ended up swimming in the river. And the best thing, we were accompanied by our local doggo guide during the whole journey, that made it more fun..so go for it

One of the scariest trek of Meghalaya. You have to trek on the bamboos that is fixed on the side of hills for about 1-1.5 hour to reach to the top. It becomes very slippery in rain. But the view from the top is just on another level.

This place truly embodies a sense of home for me. Whenever I spend time here, I am filled with love for it, and the thought of leaving and going back to my actual home is not something I desire. The warm welcome from the people and the beauty of the water contribute to the amazing feeling of belongingness I experience in this place.

An amazing experience! Be prepared to walk on bridges and ramps made out of bamboo stick. It can be exhausting and not advised if you face acrophobia.

There are just couple of shops in the trail so it is wise to carry your snacks and water. Toilet facility is available near the car park.

It was one hell of an experience, such an amazing place to detox your mind. The trek wasn't scary, but it would take 2 to 2 and half hours to complete. The entry for the trek was for ₹100 and the waterfall which comes in between was for ₹50. There were 3 shops in between where they were selling water, ORS, fruit juices, Maggie and snacks. A must visit, if you are in Meghalaya. 🤌😄

It's one of the best treks that i have done so far! Highly recommended for adventure seeking people! On a difficulty scale this I have found not at all difficult however certain portions are scary due to heights and cliffs. If you have issues/fear from heights certain sections of the trek could be avoided. Entry ticket needs to be purchased and it will cost Rs. 100 per person. You will get few shops on the way for light refreshment. One can do the trek one way for 1 and half hours to max 2 hours which includes photography time. You may also want to swim in the local river; water is crystal clear. Avoid rainy season and wear light gear especially if you travelling in feb Or march. Trekking shoes would be ideal for this trek.

The best and the adventurous trek. It is unique because of the bamboo trails and most of them are constructed the edge of the rocks and mountains. A few steep trails and wherever there is no trail, there will be a bamboo trail to get off a rock or as a connection between 2 rocks. But it's worth doing this trek because of its own uniqueness. One has to be careful while doing this trek. There is also a hidden waterfalls and it's entry is Rs.50 per person. One must not miss the waterfalls during the trek.

Located at Wakhen village,Meghalaya 15km away from Pomlum on the road to Dawki (AH2) from Shillong.

Its a plastic free zone , and you will find only 2 shops in the entire trek, better to carry your own food items/water.

One of the scariest treks of India in Mawryngkhang, Meghalaya.. around 70% of the trek is made out of bamboos tied with ropes.
The trek is challenging but rewarding
