A place in Visakhapatnam where you can get a 300° plus panoramic view of the Visakhapatnam coast. The panoramic view is really beautiful and breathtaking.

The place is a bit hard to reach as it's almost 20kms away from the mainland.and the route consists of a ride to the top of a hill with hair pin bends. But it's really worth the trouble.

Best is to go on a 2 wheeler. You can get RTC bus from R.K Beach as well. Ask for a bus that goes to Yarada beach and you can reach this place.

Best time to visit is during August - December, but it's open during the entire year.

The place is open to public between 15:00-17:00 hrs.

Please carry an id card on your person at all times as this is a restricted area and is under the control of Naval command.

The entry ticket is Rs.10. Please carry cash. This is a plastic free zone, so don't bring any plastic items and even if you bring, please keep it in your bags.

Travel enthusiasts will have a quality time as they'll get beautiful shots here.

Please do visit this place. It's a must visit and will last an impression in your hearts for ever.

A lighthouse on this hill guided ships to enter Visakhapatnam Port. The lighthouse currently uses 7 million candle power that covers up to a distance of 64 kilometers. Before independence, the British Army used it as a Military Camp.Dolphin's Nose is a hill in Visakhapatnam between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill is named Dolphin's Nose because it resembles a dolphin's nose. It is a conspicuous land mark in Visakhapatnam. Dolphin's nose is a huge rocky head land which is 174 meters high and 358 meters above sea level. The powerful beacon of the light house set on this rock at sea directs ships 65 km away.

My visit to the Light House in Vishakapatnam was a highlight of my trip. The lighthouse is an iconic landmark that offers stunning views of the city and the Bay of Bengal.

The climb to the top of the lighthouse was an experience in itself. The spiral staircase was narrow and steep, but the views from the top were absolutely worth the effort. We were able to see for miles in every direction, with panoramic views of the city, the harbor, and the sea.

The lighthouse itself is also a fascinating piece of history. The guides provided informative commentary on the history and operation of the lighthouse, including the technology used to light the tower and guide ships to safety.

One of the best things about the Light House was the peaceful and serene atmosphere. Despite being located in the heart of the city, the lighthouse offered a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the streets below. We were able to relax and take in the breathtaking views in a tranquil and serene setting.

Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Light House in Vishakapatnam. It's a unique and fascinating attraction that offers breathtaking views and an opportunity to learn about the history of lighthouses and their role in guiding ships to safety. Whether you're a history buff or simply looking for a peaceful and scenic escape, the Light House is definitely worth a visit.

A well security occupied area by the naval base. Before entering you have to submit your details like your name and id proofs along with your vehicle no. You can see the view of the city from here. You have to climb up so many stairs which maybe challenging but you can see the light house and its mechanisms. The view of nose house is outstanding.

Nice place no rish but keep 2 things in mind. This is not a full day tourist place.
1. Operates only from 3pm to 5pm
2. This place is strictly cash only
Also this place could not accommodate more people at once.

Good place to visit. The air is fresh. To take a break from your busy schedule this will be one of my recommendation. The stairs are steep, so people with fear of heights and claustrobia shouldn't visit the place. You might feel suffocated.

Loved this place. It's very clean and well maintained. There is continuous cool breeze even in hot summer.
The views are beautiful and roads are excellent as well. There are some view points while going on roads. It's good to visit on weekdays when there is less crowd.
The tickets cost you rupees 10 per person (above 11 years). There will be nominal extra charge for digital camera and video camera of rupees 15 and 25 respectively. It is necessary to carry any of your government id. One person id per vehicle will suffice.

The Dolphin's Nose is a hill between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill resembles a dolphin's nose, so the name. Formerly this hill was known as Yarada Konda. The light house is on top of this hill. This is one of the working light houses on the Indian coastline. You can see the ships tugged in and out of the Gangavaram Port from the light house. The light house is open to tourists from 3.00 pm to 5. 00 pm on all days except Wednesdays.

A wonderful place few kms away from Vishakhapatnam town. You can get a mesmerizing birdeye view of the ocean along with the port. The area is extremely tidy and under the control of the Navy. Every tourist needs to produce identity card at the check point before entering the light house. It closes at 5pm.

Dolphin's Nose is a hill in Visakhapatnam between Yarada and Gangavaram Port. The hill is named Dolphin's Nose because it resembles a dolphin's nose. It is a conspicuous land mark in Visakhapatnam. Great view of the port from the lighthouse. However, the place is not at all recommended for senior citizens or people having knee or other health problems as the staircase inside the lighthouse has very little space and is pretty steep.

An absolute feast for the eyes of any one who loves to travel and enjoy a magnificent 360° view of the sea, a beach, a port, a fishing harbour and a faint outline of the city of Visakhapatnam. Located in the outskirts of the city and below a hill, where it meets the sea, this lighthouse was inaugurated by Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then minister for transport and communication in the year 1953. This has been opened to the public for visits however one needs to first register the visit with the armed naval guards with a govt approved ID card and also need to pay a ₹10 for the entry ticket. You will be asked to shoe your bags for checking in case you are carrying one. The climb to the very top is through a narrow stairwell with the final approach is by a steel ladder. The optical glass at the very top is made in Paris, France and is visible, embossed on the side to the keen eyed. The lighthouse is still functional and is maintained by Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships under Govt of India. Overall, one of the best attractions within the immediate vicinity of Visakhapatnam.
