Hotel Garuda

We (family) stayed there on 1st, 2nd, 3rd January. Good rooms, great views (maybe best) and delicious food. Enjoyed a lot during our stay at Hotel Garuda, Pelling.

Oldest property of upper pelling...very well maintained rooms and the whole property...owner is a very sweet old lady...all the staff are well mannered and polite...great view of my.kanchenjungha...quite specious and clean rooms...price is also very affordable.

Had a wonderful stayover.. Rooms are very clean with no foul smell..
View from our balcony was awesome, had the opportunity to view mount kanchenjunga from room itself..

Situated at upper pelling right in front of the taxi stand, a well decorated old hotel with touch of elegance and serenity. I stayed at a large room at 2nd floor with a clear and outstanding view of mountains. Only drawback is room service is not available, foods can be availed while going to the restaurant at ground. Quality of their food is also average. Overall a nice experience staying here.

I stayed one night in deluxe double sunny side category room and second night in deluxe timber category room. Both had beautiful unobstructed view of the mountains and very reasonably priced too,clean & spacious. Soups were delicious. Great staff. Just to point out no in room service, food served only in the restaurant as of now. Also very loving and friendly cat and dog at the property.

One of the best hotels at pelling. Very good experience in terms of food and service. This hotel is adjacent to I love pelling board and is in upper pelling. Food is great here. If you are vegetarian you should try bendi masala for sure rotis are soft and filling. The staffs and owner very very pleasant and helpful.rooms are maintained properly. You get hot water and there is terrace from where you can view kanchanjunga mountains. Very pleasant stay. Fell in love with this place.

Stayed there for two nights, top floor for best view. The room was spacious, clean and had a reasonable quantity of furniture. Never asked for room service, so don't know what they like. The restaurant is on the ground floor and has good menu options. We have tried sikimese dish, loved them.
The two best parts I left for last, the lo location is best it can be. And then the staff are fantastic.
When I visit Pelling again, I'll not even look at another place.

Excellent hotel. The timber queen room is very nice. You can watch Kanchanjungha from your room. Plus the room also has a terrace.

1. Rooms are specious, clean, well decorated and include neat and clean bathroom with geysers.

2. Service is awesome. Delicious Foods are available for almost all the time. Laundry service is also. Free hi speed wifi connection is available. They can get you cab also sightseeing.

3. Location is the top notch point of this hotel. You can get any type of cab from here to go anywhere. It is the middle point of the pelling.

Here is a police kiosk in front of this hotel. You may feel safe also. Just visit here and enjoy Pelling.

If you want budget friendly kanchenjunga view hotel then must go for Hotel Garuda..
Feel like home.. Owner's behavior is too much polite.. And the staffs are also very friendly.
Rooms are clean.. Specious.. Windly.. Both view and non-virw rooms are available. Go for view room.. It is just awesome to view for budget hotel. Bathrooms are clean.. Hot water is available all time.

Food quality is superb and fresh.. Taste is just good.

We stayed here in Dec. 2014. We stayed in PEMA room. It is one of the best hotels in Pelling. Located at the center of the town the hotel has a clean surrounding. The ambiance of the reception is quite amazing. Reception area is decorated with the pictures and artifacts of local beliefs and tradition. Well behaved staff and proprietors. Proprieters of the hotel were very soft spoken and helpful. I booked the room over phone which was only one side facing. But on arrival they offered me a bigger room which has both Mountain view and Front road view with few extra bucks. To be honest, they provided me a suite room in the rate of deluxe room. May be because of off season.

We got up in the morning, drew the curtains and saw the awesome view of Mt. Kanchanzonga. Though the food is quite costly, it is obvious in tourist place.

I will recommend this hotel for cosy and comfortable stay.

One of the best traditional affordable stay at Pelling.

The location of the hotel is just perfect at the heart of pelling right opposite to taxi stand. The staff are so cordial and food is fresh and homely. Out of my stay of three days I never felt I was away from home. Its perfectly safe for solo female travellers as I have travelled solo... And yeah its budget friendly and u get all basic amenities so please don't expect High class amenities.

Rooms had big windows opening to cloudy mountains, personal balcony overlooking road.

Restaurant takes pre order, so food quality good. We had toast, omllette, poori bhaji, lassi in breakfast which were freshly prepared.

Staff good, Aunty good.

It is one of the oldest hotel in pelling. One can see kanchenjunga from the bed of the room nema. Rooms are neat and clean and with all the amenities.

One of the oldest and best hotel in Upper Pelling situated at the zero point.

Apparently one of the original hotels in Pelling built in 1989.
