Daragoan Retreat (Gurung Homestay)

Had a comfortable stay at this property. The owner and his family are very nice people and assist their guests in all regards. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Food was great and charges for it were also good. The property itself is very beautiful with some great views.

I’ve had a wonderful time there. Very close to Pelling, wonderful views and great way to explore Sikkim. I stayed for 3 nights, would extend by another week if I had the time.

Before visiting the place we were wondering,how would it be. But their hospitality and honest desire to love people made us speechless.Gurung ji , Aunty and their nieces welcomed us as their own family. The place was really nice and clean in the lap of nature. You will wake up every morning with the sound of nature. We would love to visit, again and again.

One of the best homestays in my North East Trip. Mr Gurung & Family would ensure that you're at home away from home. Everything starting from food, chicken, mutton, home brewed beer, location, rooms, facilities were awesome. One of the best highlight of stay was born fire where they served us home brewed beer along with barbeque.
The place is located 20 mins away from Pelling, but it's worth staying a bit far from city. Also few of the major attractions of Pellings are nearby from this homestay, so distance won't bother you. Also they've a beer shop nearby, so don't bother getting anything from Pelling.

Awesome experience of homestay, it can clearly be seen the old Sikkim culture in their decoration and gesture. location is peaceful with the essence of greenery and clear view of mountain. Dining experience was good. And the most important thing is that all the members of homestay are very decent.

If you are staying in Darap, this is where you should stay. From the ambience to the hospitality.... everything was amazing. The rooms are simply styled, but very comfortable and have all the amenities you need. The whole place is filled with plants, with evens a little pond with frogs and fishes.
The host, Gurung family, is just awesome....and so welcoming! And that shows in their food...with is home-cooked and tastes the best. Veg or non veg, whatever your preference, they make it really well. They have a dining space, but will also send it to your room on request.

You get out on to your cottage balcony, and you can see the mountanins in a clear day. It's quiet, peaceful, and simply the best place to stay in Darap.

Nice place with amazing ambience. A bridge at the starting gives a refreshing feel. You might have to walk for about 3 minutes to reach the resort from the main road but it's worth it. Breakfast is complimentary. Veg foods are available. Tea momos are really yummy. View from the second floor is the best.

The cabin is situated in a village which gives a proper retreat experience. Rooms are well maintained and Mr. Shiva is a super friendly host who ensures we have a good stay in his place. The family prepares amazing food and tea!

Very warm hosts, home stay is very beautiful with equally beautiful surroundings. View is incredible from common area. Food and snacks were awesome. Totally recommended to book this place for planning one day Yuksom trip with village walk for another day.

The best place to stay in Pelling. One should definitely stay here if you are looking to experience Sikkim hospitality. Awesome hosts!!! Felt as if we were staying with our extended family. Great location and mesmerizing view of the mountains. Located in a serene and quiet village. The village walk organized by them was the highlight of our stay. Stayed there for 3 days but would have loved to stay more. Also the driver/guide they had arranged (Mr Mukkum) was a treat as well. I suggest if one is looking for accommodation in Pelling, look no further.

Beautiful homestay, with very warm & hospitable hosts. The two girls helping out, Sumina & Kamla were always smiling & ready to help. Makes any guest's experience much better. Food was homely & tasty. Filter water was freely available. They have two cute dogs, Teetee & Browny and a friendly neighbour dog would always show up for biscuits n give licks. The house cats were always chilling out. A great place to unwind, be in nature & enjoy peace.

Shiv sir is really an amazing host and a warm welcoming one. This place does full justice to "Atithi Devo Bhava" (Considers that Guests are equivalent to God). You could walk around the beautifully maintained village and near by area. If you are looking for a place to relax and chill then this is the one for sure. And not to mention the food you get here really amazing.

In the abode of mountains this little village is calm,serene and breathtaking. Teesta flows nearby and at night both the banks, bridges light up, adding the cherry on the top of the cake we know as kanchenzunga.

The Homestay is quite good and the family is equally good. They took care of all the necessities. The family were very cordial. The food was fresh and very good. The scenic beauty of the place was nice too.

It's was wonderful stay at the draagoan village retreat., whole place was well done with plants and was beautifully done. Food was great giving taste of locally grown food. Hospitality was great.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we enjoyed it thoroughly. One of the best experience to stay with locals. Rooms are very nice and decently spacious. But the best part is Shiva (owner) and his family and the way they treat you. You will get to enjoy home made food and You also can try locally made beer if you want to . And you can the hospitality in everything they have done with homestay. You can relax , read relevant books , take a walk with well trained dog (TT) . They truly follow " अथिती देवो भव " ( Visitor is a god ) and the entire family exceeded the expectation. One can see happiness and satisfaction on their faces when they serve you.
