Elephant Zone

Nice place to visit when going ti Valpara. The area is so called because elephants are coming to the valley for drinking water. As there are lots of traffic nowadsys it is difficult to see them. The route is not dangerous even it is inside first. We are used to ride cycle through there. A very scenic place to visit with a lifetime experience and memory.

In this wonderful dense forest if you are lucky, you can spot wild elephants crossing in the evenings.If you happen to come across wild elephants ,be very caurious and do not get down from the vehicle, donot make noise,do not offer food or fruits or throw objects at them.Try to get away from them without honking or taking selfies as quickly as possible.You cannot expect the behaviour of the wild animals to be friendly.

From the area of peringalkuth reservoir road, there is a high probability of seeing elephants on the road and near by areas. Don't do anything stupid to provoke them, its dangerous. Its better to stop your vehicles, don't make any sounds and wait until they pass. We will be happy to see them on forest areas and everyone will be engaged in taking photos.most probably they come there for drinking water from peringalkuth reservoir and returns. Experienced an awesome chilling ride from vazhachal to valparai.

Should care wild animals. Dont use sound vehicles. Beware wild animals, max speed 30kms. You can expect wild elephants, sambar deer, leopards, tigers, wild guar and other animals. Dont get down from cars. Elephants are extremely violant should care. Note: this is not enjoying place. Dont put plastics. Respect forest and animals.....safe journey :)

Have done in this road at night and day 10 years ago, there was no road once. It's a forested place with patch road leading to uphill terrain Valparai, Tamilnadu.
