I did find it but not the speedy service I needed.
"Good morning", I started.. "I'd like to have some washing done", and I listed the items in my bin bag.
"When can I pick them up?
"Five days".
"Five days?
"Yes Sir, five days minimum".
Having already wasted 2hrs another wouldn't matter, so I waved down a three wheeler taxi and after consulting Google headed off to another. I told the taxi to wait as I things weren't going well.
I repeated my greeting and request.
Little waggle of the head. "Certainly sir. It will be three days"
"Couldn't I get it back this evening. I'll pay extra."
"No sir. Come back on the 8th"
I looked at my calender.
"That's four days"
"Yes sir. Three days minimum"
"Is there anywhere in Alleppey that I can get same day or even get it done by Monday evening?"
That was a bridge too far for the guys English and the taxi driver, who had been listening in, stepped forward to explain the finer points.
"No Sir. Three days minimum."
So I gave up. Took my bin bag back to the hotel and went and had a relaxing boat trip of four hours and a good lunch on Kerela's world famous backwaters.

I could not find this place.
