Very old temple. Devotional place. Atmosphere is very calm and peaceful. Approx 5km from city. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama's life before his exile to the forest. Idols of Lord Ram, Laxman, and Devi Sita preside in the Garbhagudi. You must visit the temple to witness its magnificence and seek blessings of the presiding deity. As of Nov 2022 some renovation work was happening

The history if this temple dates back to Lord Ram’s era, here the speciality is Sita devi is to the right of Rama and Lord Rama holds arrow in his right hand equivalent to his shoulders and one more special of this place is there is no Hanuman idol along with the Rama idols (history is that this is before meeting Hanumantha, after marrying Sita devi and going back to Ayodhya) Parashurama was defeated in the battle with Rama in this place
This temple is built by cholas, improved by hoysalas and vijayanagara kings

Beutiful ancient temple well maintained

An ancient temple. The temple is very beautiful with both Hoysala and Dravidian structure. Dieties are Lord Kodanda Rama, Seetha Devi and Lord Lakshmana. Divine and beautiful. One should have done 'puNya' to see the Lord and this temple. It is said that Lord Parashuram wanted to see Lord Rama's wedding Roopa... So Sita is on the right side of Rama in this temple as per the wedding tradition. Sugreeva idol is also there. It is said Lord Rama has done crowning of Sugreeva here.

This temple is very old temple. It may be 1300 years old. It is located at Hiremagalur, near Chikkamagalur. The speciality of this temple is Seeta Devi stands right side of lord Rama and Laxman stands left of lord Rama. There is no lord Hanuman with them. Mr. Hiremagalur Kannan resides very near to this temple.

HISTORY : It is said that LORD PARASHURAM requested LORD RAMA N SEETHA to give darshana in Wedding form. (Seeta mata standing Right side of Sri Rama)... Hence, Seetha is standing right side of Rama.

It is a very old temple... Dating back to 1200 yrs ago.... Established by the Cholas and continued by the Hoysalas.... The main idol doesn't have Hanuman...as this was Captured when Lord Parasurama asked Lord Rama to bless him with the darshan of his wedding scene... So the main altar consists of Lord Rama with Goddess Sita and Lakshmana.... On the back ... There is a shrine for Sugreeva... One of the rarest one....

Excellent visit to this temple! We heard about this place while in Chikmagaloor area with my family. By the time we arrived at the temple, it was closing time. But the priest offered to keep it open for us, which was very good!
