Neelkanth base camp

One of Most challenging and difficult trek of Neelkanth peak in mighty Himalayas. Me and my friend did this difficult trek in rough mountain. Sometimes we didn't find a way but we didn't give up and successfully completed trek. This was an incredible journey to see lord shiva neelkanth peak . We did it in starting November of 2022 weather was so dangerous here so be prepared. There was very heavy snowfall when we are here so take all the necessary equipment. Om namah shivay 🏔♾🕉

Perhaps one of the most challenging and thrilling activity to pursue in Badrinath Kedarnath is the trek to the base of the camp of Neelkanth. The trek usually begins early in the morning with the first checkpoint being Charanpaduka (about 3 km. from Badrinath). You will be able to see the alleged footprints of Lord Vishnu on a rock here. From Charanpaduka, the trek gets extremely steep and precarious, so be very careful from here. If you visit Neelkanth during the months of July-September, you will also be able to witness the enchanting beauty of Brahmakamal flowers that are sacred as well as are designated as the state flower.

After trekking here for 4-5 hours, you will reach the base camp, which is situated at a massive height of 4270 metres. You will get a clear and unobstructed view of the imposing Neelkanth Mountain, which is a mesmerising sight in its own right. Since there are no accommodation facilities here, you will have to descend to Badrinath to spend the night. Many tours and travel companies offer packages for a trek to Neelkanth base camp, and it is advisable to use their expertise and experience here.

Another gem around Badrinath, take the road on the left of the temple through the crowded houses and within 5 mins you are out of the town, 3 kms of uphill journey and you reach Charan paduka, the starting point of neelkanth base camp trek. If you are still breathing after that you are free enough to trek towards the base camp which is another 4 kms away. 😊

I and my friend did trekking for 4hrs in rough mountain to reach this place. This is just a place where you can camp only if you bring all necessary equipment for camping and heating bcoz it's surrounded by snow mountains. Otherwise return before it gets dark and natural beauty become dangerous for you, it will take 3 hrs to return.

A beautiful place in the lap of this beautiful mountain.
