Vibhuti Nath Temple
The district Shravasti with headquarter Bhinga is situated in the northern zone of Uttar Pradesh in Himalayan range, adjacent to Nepal border. During Mahabharata period, Pandava spend twelve years in exile and one year concealed place. At the period exile they resides sometimes in this forest region called SOHALVA. At that time Bhima initiated to formed a village, so the name of village was known as Bhimgaon, later on it became BHINGA. In Himalayan range, 36 Km north form Bhimgaon, Pandva laid foundation a Shiva temple which is famous as VIBHUTI NATH. Thousands of devotee visit the temple every year. During “Sawan” millions of devotee visits the temple for offering their prayer to lord Shiva.

Vibhuti Nath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated at Merkiya village in Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the sacred Hindu places of pilgrimage in Uttar Pradesh, and among the best-sacred places to visit near Shravasti.

Founded by Pandavas, Vibhuti Nath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the region. One can find traces of its history from the great Hindu epic Mahabharata. During the Mahabharata period, Pandavas spent twelve years in exile and one year in a concealed place. During the exile period, they resided for sometimes in the forest region of Suhaildev. At that time Bhima initiated to form a village that came to be known as Bhimgaon and later Bhinga. About 32 km north of Bhimgaon, Pandavas laid the foundation of a Shiva temple which became famous as Vibhuti Nath.

Thousands of devotees visit the temple every year to seek blessings and pay their homage to the deity of Lord Shiva. During the days of Savan month, the number of devotees visiting Vibhuti Nath Temple doubles as the days are considered to be auspicious for offering prayers to Lord Shiva.

Vibhuti Nath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was established by Pandavas. Panchmukhi(Five Faced) Lord Hanuman is also seated in this temple.

We went here for our Morning Bike Ride from Bahraich. Temple does have good connectivity, one can easily visit with his friends and family via car or bike or bus.
There is a lake nearby. The temple and nearby place (except on important days) is very quiet and have very positive atmosphere.

My honest opinion is that it's very peaceful and historical place where you must need to go atleast one time in your life. This temple is in Shravasti district.
People's fath that Lord Shiva came here in satyug. Here are very peaceful and wide area to park your vehicles. This place is also peaceful and neet. In Shivratri here are many people's came ,so those times here are a heavy croud came here.

Temple is very ancient as people over there said and as well as written on the stone that this is built arount Pandav Kal (at the time of Mahabharat).

Location is very beutiful. It is just 20KM from Sonpathri (Nepal) which is very beutiful location as i seen near my hometown.

Great place, having temple of Lord Shiva, Panchmukhi Hanumanji, Maa Annapurna, and there is a Shiv Sarovar as well. The location of Vibhuti Nath is near by Sirisiya Bhinga, from Sirisiya you can go to Sonpathari, which is at India Nepal border. The distance between Sirisiya and Sonpathari is 11 km, well covered by natural beauty. We have to go at least once to both locations for worship and enjoy.

A majestic little known place where you can find solace from hectic life.

Vibhuti nath temple is one of the most famous and ancient temple of Shrawasti. It is said that it was made in pandava (of Mahabharata) time. It is situated in the foothills of shivalik range of Himalayas. Very calm and beautiful surroundings and Greenery. Must visit place . My father used to visit every Monday since last 8-9 year . Very Nice temple built during Mahabharata times. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it is present in the outskirts of Shravasti district near Indo-Nepal border.

Situated in open. Avoid on Mondays if you wish to spend some time there. Also visit annapoorna Devi temple situated about 150m from main vibhuti nath temple
