Limboo Homestay

Our time at Limboo Homestay has been one of the most unforgettable experiences we’ve had on our travels. The place is set in a beautiful, thriving vegetable garden amidst the rolling Himalayas, and is the base of a short but steep walk up to Sikkim’s oldest functioning monastery. The cottage was luxuriously big and comfortable, with warm showers, plenty of blankets and a balcony overlooking the serene gardens. What was most special about our stay was meeting the lovely family that run it; they were hospitable and warm, providing us with an abundance of incredible food (Thali’s, soups, omelettes, pancakes - all made with fresh ingredients from their garden) and they kindly welcomed us into their Limboo culture. We would wholeheartedly recommend this Homestay to any travellers looking to stay in the Himalayas and experience Sikkim. A big shoutout to Ikla for truly immersing us into the local culture!!

This place is situated in Yuksom bazaar. It is ran by a family. They have lots of pets (cats & dogs). They also have a beautiful garden. You'll get to eat homegrown organic vegetables.

A very nice place to stay at in Yuksom, the rooms are clean and very nice, the food is delicious and their garden is amazing. Would definitely recommend.

There were puppies and guinea pigs and kitties and cats and a big white dawg! ... as everyone universally declares, the beat homestay in Yuksom - one of the best I've ever been. :)
PS: No ATMs in Yuksom so bring extra cash to buy the homemade pickles and wine; Rhododendron wine was an absolute delight ! 🍷👌

It is situated in one of the peaceful, serene hamlets of West Sikkim, Yuksom. Limboo Homestay is more like farm stay they grow their own veggies organically. We have stayed in dorm rooms in terms of price it is quite good, bathrooms were clean. However the food is a bit costly, they have only veg meals and eggs. But you can eat outside, market is nearby 3-4 min walking from the homestay.
And one thing that is good is that you can do the Yuksom sightseeing by walk from here like Dubdi Monastery, Kathok lake, Helipad, Coronation Throne etc.
Also you can purchase home made wines and pickles from them.
The behaviour of the homestay owner is very helpful and friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Limboo Homestay in Yuksom, Sikkim, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment wd arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality.

The homestay itself is nestled amidst the stunning natural beauty of Sikkim. The views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery are breathtaking. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, providing a cozy retreat.

The real highlight, though, was the gracious hosts. The Limboo family went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They introduced us to delicious local cuisine, shared stories about the region. Their hospitality truly made the trip memorable.

I also appreciated the homestay's commitment to sustainability and supporting the local community. It's clear that they take pride in preserving the environment and contributing positively to the area.

Lovely location and garden. The place is built like a resort. The rooms are good and clean and view is awesome.

Awesome Limboo Family! Stunning views from the property, huge garten, good rooms and hot water in the showers. Breakfast and Dinner are Budget friendly, delicious, but optional.
When we were there, they had cute kittens.

The whole family and all others taking care this place runs in the first place, are simply wonderful. Hospitable, warm, and friendly, that’s how I would describe them. The rooms are good, there’s enough warm water for a decent shower, the food was tasteful and for me, as traveling cyclist, also enough, they have an exquisite home made and rather sweet thongba, and their garden is beautiful and quiet. I can recommend this place to any traveler!

The rooms were comfortable. They have cottages also, which seemed to be better. But two features stand out: their behaviour and the food. The latter is easily the best we have tasted. Despite its unassuming name, the place is worth visiting just for the food.

Nicely located with a farm setting, carefree and great hospitality that touches our heart.

Mrs Rani Limboo is caring and her home cooked food deserves the best mention.

We stayed with our small dog and children, they got company and felt like at our homes. Yuksom is a sleepy village with nearby beautiful places to walk around and enjoy the quiet life and relax.

We would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wants to truly relax for a few days.

This has to be one of the most amazing homestays that I've stayed in. The cottages are nice and comfortable, washroom is very clean with hot water throughout the day. Rani aunty and her daughters work really hard to ensure that you have everything that you need. Food is extremely delicious with a lot of variety. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. Highly highly recommended.

I stayed there for two days. Initially got the normal room, later shifted to the cottage. So while booking make sure you are booking in a cottage. The cottage ambience was great. Food is good. Quiet and calm place to enjoy.

I was blown away by their food & politeness..plus they have two cute doggos..i loved the place so very much...it will stay in my mind forever. Just be aware of leeches tho, if u ignore that fact it was a mind-blowing experience for me...if u r with friends, take the cottage its worth it...in my views its 10/5 experience there...PS - they are vegetarian & u will only get eggs as non veg option..but the veg foods😍😍

We stayed at Hotel Limboo Homestay for three nights with our 2 years old baby and we enjoyed our stay. We did not have a reservation and we simply walked to this place based on recommendation from locals. The host received us warmly and showed us different rooms with prices ranging from 600 - 1500/night. We found a decent room in our price range. The room was well organized with clean sheets and the bathroom had hot water which was refreshing. It was raining and wet during our entire stay. We got the cheapest option and room had a bit of smell of mold which we reduced by opening the windows often and airing out (This might not be the case during sunny days or in other rooms). We had breakfast and lunch with the hosts and the food was fresh and delicious. Most of the ingredients were picked from their own backyard vegetable garden. They had rabbits, guinea pig, and fish in their garden which was wonderful for our baby to be entertained. There was no WiFi at the place and also the signal of our phone was very week inside the room (We heard the Vodafone works well but not Airtel). They also arranged our travels for further travels within Sikkim, which was very convenient. The entire family was very kind and nice and they always looked for ways to make our stay comfortable. Overall, a wonderful place for short and long term stays close to nature at reasonable price.
