Staying in Khecheopalri sanctuary homestay in Sikkim was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking natural beauty of the location was matched only by the unparalleled warmth and hospitality of our hosts,Latop and Seerat. Despite the simplicity of the accommodations, the genuine care and attention from them made it feel like a home away from home.
A unique highlight was their incredibly friendly mountain dogs and one cat—who added an extra layer of joy to our stay. Their affectionate presence made the experience even more charming.
While the rooms might not have been lavish and the bathrooms were basic but very clean, the genuine hospitality, delicious homemade pizza(a must try in Latop's Pizzeria) and the magical setting near Khecheopalri Lake made this stay an unforgettable gem. Highly recommended for those seeking a genuine and heartwarming experience amidst nature's wonders.

Loved my stay at the Khecheopalri Sanctuary Home Stay. I stayed there for 3 nights and could've easily stayed for longer. The location is perfect for nature lovers who want to explore the sacred lake and the surrounding forests and villages. Latop and Seerat were great hosts and absolutely enjoyed my conversations with them. Highly recommend trying Latop's wood-fired pizza during your stay here.

We planned to come for two nights, extended to five, and stayed eight! Beautiful homestay, peaceful location, mesmerizing view, and warm hospitality!
An excellent place for someone independent who likes to explore and doesn't expect to be babysitted by the host. The homestay did not provide food, but easy options were nearby, and the host was very helpful. A wonderful place for hikes to dive into Sikkimese culture and simply just to Be.

We had an incredible time!

MY wife and I reached Sikkim and were deciding where to start our journey and found kechuperi on the map. And then we found this Homestay that we felt would be a nice place to stay for 2 days before we make our way to other place. We could not have asked for a better Homestay or a better set of hosts than Latop and sirat. The Homestay was super simple and absolutely beautiful. Just what we we’re looking for. Located in a very convenient place for a recluse like us, the Homestay was sort of a camp zero for most hiking spots that latop and Sirat were kind enough to guide us towards. What was meant to be a 2 day stay ended up becoming a 10-day stay and we loved every minute of it. The absolute calmness and stillness of the place, the beautiful dogs and the wonderful hosts all made this such a gem of place. Since there is no food served at the Homestay, you’ll need to walk down to the restaurants below which is a beautiful 5-10 minute walk. If that’s something that you don’t mind, then this is the place.

It was my best stay in Sikkim. Everything from stay to food was excellent. Highly recommend to stay in this Homestay. Latop and his aunt take s good care of their guest. Food was purely organic and totally delicious. Especially latop’s authentic wood oven pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. We used to enjoy our dinner over variety of topics like ghost stories, alien encounters, meditation. View from room is mind blowing. You can even walk down to Khecheopalri lake whenever you want. #TruelyAwesome.

The highlight of the stay was definitely the Brick oven pizza. The whole process of making the pizza was such an amazing thing to watch.
Not to forget the mesmerizing sunrise which you can see by just removing the window curtains of your room.

From the moment I walked in the entrance to the Khichopalri Sanctuary, I was thoroughly impressed. The homestay gives such warm vibes and inviting host Latop and his family are very nice and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and gives a pleasant view from the balcony.
The food was absolutely wonderful. I especially enjoyed the local tongba and bricked pizza baked by owner on special demand of guests.
Also, the location is in a beautiful jungle, close to lake and beautiful monastery’s around with few untouched and pristine treks with the virgin beauty of shimmering waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes.
Overall, what a wonderful trip and a great prize. Special thanks to you for making all the arrangements for my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all the work the host put into my visit. I would definitely recommend the Khecheopalri Sanctuary Homestay as a great place to come to relax and enjoy yourself.

Traditional style simple home stay by amazing host Latop and Sirat. Loved our stay and would like to go for a longer stay as two days also felt less!

It’s a beautiful place in the lap of nature. Away from all the chaos of city life, this Homestay is a perfect place to unwind in nature. The views of mountains and greens from here are just magnificent.

Warm host- Latop, a very sweet host, he also teaches you some basics of meditation and can also take you in small hikes nearby ( i couldn’t do it as I had my flight back and didn’t stay for long) but I can totally recommend you to plan and stay here for few days and explore Sikkim’s this part peacefully

PS: Wood brick oven pizza is made here from scratch and it’s yum, the momos are also delicious. I had twisted my ankle and the host really helped with medicines and crape bandage so you can rely on them. Overall I’d say it’s a 10/10 and I hope to visit this place again

One of the Most divine lake in Sikkim.
Myths say that in that lake one will not find any leaf into the water though surrounded by the forest.. If this lake can be seen by drone then it looks like the footprint.. Local believe is that footprint is of Buddha.
No body kills the fishes of that lake.
Beside that there is a way to climb up to rinchenpong cave that is almost 3km climb through rocky slides of the hill

Kecheopalri is one of the most peaceful, calm and serene places in west Sikkim. A small, not so populated, sort of hamlet. Kecheopalri sanctuary homestay run by Latop Bhutia is one of the best places to stay. His pizzas (available only here in a radius of 100-120 kms) made in an authentic Italian brick oven are the biggest highlight of the place, along with nice spacious wooden rooms, with a space outside, a social room with a fireplace and a nice lawn with chairs, benches, hammock and bonfire. The 3 meals are delicious! Latop is a supremely hospitable host and will always do his best to make your stay memorable. You can see beautiful sunrises everyday from the space outside the rooms. 10-20 mins away from the lake. There's a viewpoint to see the lake from above, 15 mins away. There are nice treks nearby, with hidden waterfalls and caves unexplored by commercial tourists. Electricity and hot water are always available, network and 3G at 100%. Perfect for both workation or vacation. You'll definitely extend your stay because of the tranquility. Must visit when in Sikkim! Minimalists and nature lovers will love this place.

PS: Don't expect fancy rooms, housekeeping services, amazing bathroom & toilet, as in a hotel. Please avoid if these unnecessary material things/services are a pre requisite for you while traveling. It's a homestay not a hotel.

I found home away from home here at Khechopalri sanctuary homestay. The place is simple and beautiful and the host Latop makes your stay worthwhile.If you’re a slow traveller and enjoy cherishing little things like waking up to the beautiful sunrise, climbing up the hills, home cooked meals, local drinks and simply being in the mountains, this place is meant for you!
Latop is very kind and did everything in his capacity to ensure I have the best local experience. I would really like to visit this place again! Soon!

I loved the place. It is very beautiful and calm. Latup makes the best pizza. And there are two little munchkins who will steal something from you. Your heart !!!

This place is like heaven. So calm and peaceful. The view from homestay is unimaginable. Latop is the man. All meals are delicious and if you’re lucky he may just make you pizza! Come here to experience peace and tranquility surrounded by the magical forest of Sikkim and sacred lake.

To the beauty and serenity of the Khecheopalri Lake added the best hospitality that Latop had to offer. An amazing person who has many stories to share about the place. For me he ensured that I reach the place comfortably and made all arrangements for a very comfortable stay.

I had the most perfect stay at the Khecheopalri Sanctuary Homestay which is very close to the lake (5 mins walk) and has an amazing view. This is a Sikkimese wooden house beautifully decorated with colourful flags having a cozy fireplace. The place itself has such great vibes in which one can be lost. You can also join in when Latup practices his daily meditation.... :)

Nice place top view of the lake and the valley. Great for watching the milky-way at night and sunrise in morning. Rooms are basic but warm and bright. Hot shower possible and clean toilet. The jung owner Latop is always helpful with everything you might need. Food he provide was also very good and enough to get full. Nice price value!

I had an absolutely beautiful staying at Latop’s homestay. The view is incredible, you can find real peace and comfort and lovely hosts. Latop also makes the best pizza in Sikkim, a nice plus. Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing place to stay just like your home!! Best part is the hospitality and the view from the veranda... Latup also made pizzas for us!!! Never felt so good.. :) If anybody is thinking to go there, you can try visiting this place!! :) <3
