The temple is dedicated to Ganga Maharani, who is believed to be the goddess of the Ganges River.
The temple is situated on the banks of the Banganga River and is considered a sacred spot for Hindu devotees.

The architecture of the Shri Ganga Maharani Ji Temple is notable for its intricate carvings and beautiful design. The temple features a mix of Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture, which is common in many buildings in Rajasthan.

The temple is especially popular during the festival of Ganga Dussehra, which is celebrated in the month of June. During this festival, devotees flock to the temple to take part in the celebrations and seek blessings from the goddess Ganga Maharani.

It is huge monument type temple. It took more than 90 years to build this temple. It is the temple of Goddess Ganga.

Actually Ganga is the Longest river in India, but in Hinduism, we worship Natural resources. And it is known that Ganga River Came to earth directly.
And we worship Ganga maa as Goddess Ganga.

You can visit this temple for free at the normal timing when temples open generally.
Mostly You will not find crowd there.

There is a statue of Ganga Maa standing on her vehicle A crocodile. You will feel so calm if you visit there.

No photography is allowed in the statue area, but you can take pictures out of the building.

It is situated Near to the Chauburja Circle, Lohagarh fort.

If you come here in day time (early morning to 12 PM), Don't miss the Kachori's (Spicy fast food) of Deviram Kachori's shop. It's near to the temple and you can reach there on foot. These Kachori's are so popular in Bharatpur.

An old temple dedicated to Gangaji, kuldevi of one of the Kings. A very well made temple with very serene atmosphere. It is also one of the few temples dedicated to Ganga maiyya.

ARCHITECTURE
South Indian, Rajput and Mughal styles – a confluence

It is said that the year 1845 saw Maharaja Balwant Singh begin this temple’s construction. The construction process of the temple was quite unique in that all the employees of the state and many other affluent locals were asked to contribute towards the building of the shrine. It is said that around 9 decades were taken to build the temple. Once the temple was complete, Brijenra Singh, Balwant Singh’s fifth descendant placed an idol of the goddess Ganga in the temple. It is from thereon that the temple came to be known as the Ganga Mandir or temple.

जय श्री गंगा महारानी जी की🙏 गंगा मैया की जय🙏
The then king of Bharatpur Maharaj Balwant Singh did not have any issue, hence to get blessed with a son, he founded this temple at the suggestion of Shri Hardevji Maharaj. By and by, generation to the generation, the building work continued. The Maharaj did not accept any help from outside. So he went to the extent of deduction contributions from salaries of his employees. It took many many years to get the temple built. As a special feature of the temple is that the king and queen could have first sight of Ganga Maharani and even today a window in their royal palace opens exactly towards the temple of Shri Gangaji and the darshan of Shri Ganga can be held by the king or the queen.

BRIEF OF THE DIETY

Shri Ganga Maharaj, the divine river Ganga personified as a Goddess titting on the back of the crocodile. The statue is made of marble and Ganga Maharani is sitting on the crocodile. On one side stands a 4 feet high statue of king Bhagiratha with his hands folded. The statue is very impressive. Shri Ganga Maharani is worshiped as a Goddess.

All hindu customs and traditions are followed. Bhajans, Keertan, Bhandara etc. are organized from time to time.
Now speak the chant #Jay #Ganga #Maharani #Ji

The Ganga Mandir, which resides within the heart of the city of Bharatpur is one of the most beautiful temples in Rajasthan. In it lies the surprising deity of Ganga Maharaj fabricated from pristine white marble. Maharaja Balwant Singh started out building this temple inside the mid-19th century. However, he had a very particular request that required all of the prosperous inhabitants of the city to donate one month’s pay to assist in the direction of the temple’s introduction.❤🤍💚
