Sanu Homestay

I stayed at this Homestay for a couple of days. The location is very beautiful, serene and secluded. You will enjoy nature and real Sikkim experience here. The food served is completely home made and is very good. Owner of homestay is very caring and takes care of every single thing. She has some culinary skills and local knowledge too. Tashiding monastery is at a walking distance from this place. Would definitely recommend this place and will not lose a chance to stay here again.

It was a nice time to stay in Sanu homestay. The view from the room is really clean, nice and there is a a shortcut to Tashi Ding Monastery. Hot water and internet is also available.

Service is great with breakfast and dinner. The owner also gives recommendations good places to travel.

Sanu homestay is a really beautiful and serene place. Sanu is a great person to chill with, apart from being a great cook (really good)! She has kept the energy of the homestay in sync with the pure energy of Tashiding monastery, which is why staying at her place feels especially natural and beautiful.

We had a delightful stay at the homestay. The food was delicious, and the hostess was exceptionally kind, even assisting us in finding transportation. The warm hospitality made our experience truly memorable. The place was clean, and hot water was readily available. Recommended!

I'm, we're in love with this place. Visited this year during 6th may - 8th may, with my 74 year Mom-in-law, wife and child. We were treated greatly. Sanu Ma'am, her cousin sister, they're extremely humble and hardworking people. Very dignified. They'll never let you feel you're alone.
We'll come back, again and again. Even if Sanu Ma'am refuses. Ha ha.
This is a place, where you find peace. Not a place for a party. But a place with God's party.

In my 13 yrs of experience in tourism as guide, homestay operator I felt sanu homestay is one of the best Homestay in Sikkim. I spend my 3days with my friends and I felt like I'm at home. It's a virgin destination where one can feel the nature. Sanu herself is very kind and such a warm person. She made us feel at home, and was always up for a good chat and had all the local information you could ask for.

The organic homemade food was absolutely delicious, and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We really recommend staying here!

I was there on Bumchu festival. I joined her to her visit in the monastery with other guests from the guesthouse . She explained us everything. it was interesting, Sanu is full of knowledge, and she might be the kindest woman I ever met! She even lent me her traditional clothes so I was feeling almost like a local

Sanu homestay is a 100 percent organic homestay located in the village of Tashiding, West Sikkim, India. Operated and owned by Sanu Bhutia who is a adventure sports enthusiast, a guide, an environmentalist and of course a traveler herself. The homestay offers WIFI reception, organic meals and it is pet friendly. With Sanu as a host,one will experience bhutia living at its authentic conditions. Tashiding monastery is less than a half kilometer uphill from the homestay. Tashiding monastery is also known as the heart of Denzong (Sikkim), considered as the holiest monastery in Sikkim as per Tibetan Buddhism.
During my first stay I offered my treat to the lovely people of Sanu Homestay and Tashiding Village. Cooked Bengali items such as Posto (পোস্ত), Kathi Aluvaja (কাঠি আলুভাজা),  Begun Vaja (বেগুনভাজা), Moong-Mussor Dal (মুগ-মুসুর ডাল) & Murgir Jhol (মুরগীর ঝোল). The localities appreciated my efforts for cooking. They all loved my cooking and these bengali dishes.  Thank you Sanu for giving me the control of your kitchen.

Sanu was wonderful to me! She welcomed me into her guesthouse and gave me a clean room and good price including 3 meals! The location is a gem surrounded by nature under the Tashiding monastery, a pearl!
If you pass by here, absolutely stop by her!

Sanu is my favourite host in all of Sikkim! <3 She's so kind and generous and super sweet as long as you respect her space and time. The food she cooked for me was super delicious and made with organic ingredients from her garden and so much love! I truly felt at home there. She dressed me up in her traditional Sikkimese dresses, took me shopping in the village, introduced me to her friends and family, and took pictures and videos of me all day long! <3 I honestly can't express how much fun I had with her and her nieces. They're all super sweet and fun. Also, her mother's presence feels like a blessing. She's too cute, just like a little child. Do carry chocolates for her if you're visiting because she loves them :D The rooms are pretty good, clean. The bathroom is shared but it is very modern and super clean at all times. The view from my room was just brilliant! :)

If you're going there please make sure that you don't litter or smoke around the premises as they're very particular about these things. Its our responsibility as guests to respect their space and not cause them any trouble :)

Sanu's homestay is a beautiful paradise in the nature near to the monastry of tashiding. Our room was very big and had a wonderful view. As a welcome we got some local snacks and tea, which we really appreciated. Also the homemade ricewine was awesome. Sanu was very kind and helpful. She cooked a delicious meal for us and the chat during the meal was very enriching. We would definitely return to this beautiful place!

Pros.
1- Nice place, non polluted environment ,
2- Cooked and served organic food especially in time
3- Oldest Tibetan - Monastery is only walkable distance from homestay
4- Host have best knowledge about nearby tourist places also arranges transportation with low cost.
5- Recommended for script writer's and work from home employees
6- Jio and Airtel have good internet network reception and enough speed.

Cons:
1- Cigarate smoking is not allowed inside the premises (I am a non-smoker).
2- Geyzing to Tashiding road not good same as other hill areas

Over all feel good.

Sanu is an amazing host! Very warm, friendly and incredibly clean home is what she welcomes you in with a bright smile. It is a perfect homestay with the best home cooked Sikkimese food and stories from around the world.
Please ignore all reviews that have only complains in their comments because those are clearly from uninformed and inexperienced tourists who are not ‘travelers’ in the real sense.
Do not come here expecting it to be a hotel. It is a home and someone is allowing you to come live a few days with them and letting you experience the life they live and the way that they live it. That is a big deal.
Be respectful of the fact you are a guest in someone’s house.
It is such a lovely experience and I might come again to sikkim only to spend time at Sanu’s home. I wish I could stay there longer and could eat all that great food, wake up to that breathtaking view and listen to all the fun stories she has to tell for a fee more days ❤

Sanu was such a lovely host, loved my stay. The room and washroom are impeccably hygenic, Sanu treats you with delicious local food and wine, and her beautiful family will provide you with amazing company. What more can you ask, I would highly recommend Sanu homestay!!!

Had a good experience. Rooms were good. And food was heavenly. Overall our visit to Tashiding monastery and our stay in such a beautiful home was great a experience.

The location is perfect close to monastery and very peaceful
